お友達にランチにどうぞとお招きいただいて、伺いました。
A friend invited me to lunch at her place.
テーブルは淡い黄色とネイビーの組み合わせ。エレガントでお優しいお友達の雰囲気そのもののテーブルです。はい、お昼からピンクシャンパンまでご馳走になりました。
The table cloth was very soft yellow and the napkin was navy – very elegant and soft look, which is the impression of herself. Yes, we had pink Champagne as well!
最初に出していただいたのは、何年か前に一緒にお菓子教室で習ったケークサレ。元のレシピはツナも入りますがわたしがいただけないので、ドライトマトが入っています。おつまみにぴったり。
First dish was some Cake Sale – with sun-dried tomatoes. We took a lesson to bake this together a few years ago – the original recipe had tin of tuna as well but I cannot eat tuna so she just used sun-dried tomatoes. Goes well with drinks.
２皿目は、トマトとモッツァレラチーズのサラダ。ミニトマトは丁寧に湯むきされているのでドレッシングが沁みて、甘くて美味しかったです。
The 2nd dish was Tomato & Mozzarella salad. The mini tomatoes were skinned so they’d absorbed dressing well and lovely and sweet.
３皿目は、アスパラガスのムース。きれいなグリーン。
The 3rd dish was Asparagus Mousse – beautiful green.
４皿目は、パンプキンスープ。
The 4th dish was Pumpkin Soup.
５皿目にラズベリーのサラダ。
The 5th dish was raspberry salad.
そして、メインのビーフの煮込みと付け合せのポテトグラタン。
Then, the main was Slow-cooked Beef and Potato Gratine.
お紅茶は、日本の方のプロデュースのスリランカのもの。ググってみましたが情報は見つかりませんでした。いろいろなフレーバーがあり、わたしはマンゴーをいただきました。マンゴーの香りが強すぎず、お紅茶の香りがしっかりして美味しかったです。
The tea was something her friend strongly recommended. I Googled the name but couldn’t find any information. The box had many different flavoured tea and I chose Mango, which was subtle and very nice.
いつ伺っても沢山の品数を丁寧に作っていただいて、感激してしまいます。どれも上品にきれいに盛り付けられていて、とても美味しかったです！毎日お忙しい中でお時間を作ってくださって、ありがとうございます。年齢も同じくらいなので、何をするのも面倒に感じるお年頃ということもわかっていますので、尚更お気持ちが嬉しいです。
Whenever she invites me, she cooks so many dishes and they are all presented beautifully and taste delicious. I appreciate her making time for cooking and inviting me because I know she has very busy schedule and also she is about the same age as me and I know it requires a lot of effort.
あと半年くらいしたら日本に本帰国されるご予定で、こうしてお目にかかれるのもあと僅かと思うと寂しい限り。半年なんて、あっとう間にすぎてしまいますからね。少し日本に帰りますが、戻りましたら、わたしも少し頑張ってランチにお誘いしますね。
She will leave for Japan for good in about six months. We know six months goes fast and I’m already feeling sad. I’ll be leaving for Japan for a couple of weeks next week but I will make an effort and invite her back when I get back.
