先日お友達とランチをした、WismaのJapan Townの焼肉屋さん、「平城苑」に夫とランチに行きました。この間は焼肉も少しついてくるセットにしましたが、今日は石焼ビビンバにしました。石焼ビビンバにもスープやサラダがついてきました。石焼なので当たり前ですがいつまでも熱々で、熱々過ぎてなかなか食べられず（笑）。個人的には、石焼じゃない方がいいかも（笑）。でも、美味しくいただきました。１人２２ドル。先日はガラガラで心配になる程でしたが、今日は学校もまだお休みですし会社も多分お休みのところが多いせいか、Wisma 全体も Japan Town もこのレストランも、結構混んでいました。
My husband and I had lunch at “Heijouen” in Japan Town today. I’d been there before with some friends a week or so ago but it was my husband’s first time. We had Bibimba in a stone bowl (, which came with a salad, a soup and a small dish of bean sprout salad). I should have known but as it was in a grilled stone, it was extremely hot forever, it took us a long time to eat! I think I prefer it in a ceramic bowl…. but it was quite good. It was S$22 per person – not bad in Singapore.
少し前に、結婚した当初から使っていた木のゴミ箱が壊れてしまい、木工用ボンドでくっつけようとがんばっていたのですがうまくいかなかったので諦めて購入することに。リビングルームに置くゴミ箱は見た目がゴミ箱らしくないものが良いのでなかなか気にいる物が見つかりませんでしたが、Crate & Barrel でちょうど良さそうなバスケットがあったので決めました。ついでにずっと探していたランドリーバスケットも購入。
The wooden rubbish bin that we’d been using probably since we got married fell apart a while ago. We tried to put them together (it fell apart where glued) with some glue for wood but somehow it didn’t work, so we had to give up. As we were near ION, we decided to go to Crate & Barrel to look for one to replace it. We have been also wanting to look for a laundry basket because what we bought sometime ago isn’t working well for us.
Crate & Barrelのものは（わたしたちにとっては）高価なものが多いですが、雑貨類を色々置いているお店というのがシンガポールには少ないので、気にいるものが見つかる確率が一番高いお店のような気がします。IONはいつ行っても人が多いのでなかなか足が向きませんが、気にいったものが見つかったので行った甲斐がありました。
Fortunately we found both that we quite liked. They are quite expensive for what they are but there aren’t many shops that sell that sort of things in Singapore and I think Crate & Barrel are the most likely place we find something we like from our experience. I try to avoid ION because it’s always so busy but sometimes we cannot avoid it. I’m glad we found what we like.
人が多いと言っても普段の週末より少なく（旅行されている方が多いのでしょうね）、タクシーもほとんど並ばず乗れました。
Having said it’s always busy, it was relatively quiet today considering schools are still on holidays and many offices are closed until today. Less busy than usual weekends, I think.
