No Menu

昨日は写真の編集をしていて途中からコンピューターの前でうとうと。。。２日ほど寝不足だったので（一昨日の夜中から本を読み始めたら途中でやめられず昨日の朝まで読んでしまいました）起きていられず、早めに寝てしまいました。

I couldn’t stop reading the book I was reading the night before and it was morning when I finally finished it, so last night I kept falling asleep in front of my PC when I was editing the photos for this post and eventually gave up and went to bed relatively early.

昨日のディナーは、とてもとても久しぶりに No Menu に行きました。多分２年以上行っていなかったと思います。当時はなかった２階の席に案内されました。落ち着いた雰囲気で良かったです。

Yesterday, we went to No Menu for dinner. I think it’s been more than 2 years since we’d been there. We were taken to a table in their room on the 2nd floor, which is the new addition to their restaurant. It was nice and cozy.

最初にフォカッチャ（？）とスパイシーソーセージが出てきました。このソーセージ、こちらでいただくのが美味しかったのでシチリアに行ったときにお肉屋さんで売られていた瓶詰めを買ってみたのですが、辛いばかりで旨味がなくて全然おいしくなかったのです。ここのは、やっぱり美味しい！

First they serve focaccia and spicy sausage. We love this spicy sausage so we bought one in a jar that was sold in a butcher’s shop in Sicily when we were there on holiday last year, but it wasn’t good at all, it was just extremely spicy without anything else. The one here is delicious.

前菜は、今日のスペシャルから「ローストビーフ」にしましたが、思っていたのとは随分違っていました。うす〜く切られたお肉の下は、サラダです。あまり好みじゃなかった。

For the starter, I ordered “Roast Beef”, which was one of their Specials. It was quite different from what I expected, the beef was sliced extremely thin like thinner than Shabu Shabu meat. Underneath the layer of the beef, there is some salad.

夫は前菜にモッツァレラのフライ。少しだけ味見させてもらいましたが、思っている味、美味しかったです。ソースはトマトソース。

My husband had deep fried mozzarella that he enjoyed very much.

夫はメインにカネロニをオーダー、とても美味しかったそうです。

For the main, my husband had Cannelloni. Apparently it was delicious.

わたしは、シンプルなパスタと迷いましたがいつもそれなので、昨日はスパイシーソーセージ（名前を忘れてしまいましたが、最初に出て来るのと同じペースト状のもの）とほうれん草のリゾットにしてみました。リゾットというのは少ししゃばしゃばするぎるのと、ソーセージの旨味をあまり感じられなかったので、わたしなら水分を減らしてソーセージの量を増やします。

I thought about ordering a simple pasta dish but I often have it so I decided to order Risotto with spicy sausage (the same sausage as the one we get in the beginning of the meal) and spinach because I’d never had it. To me, this risotto has too much liquid, I prefer with less. Also I wasn’t able to taste much of the sausage.
