Spaghetti alla Carbonara

今日夫が作ってくれた夕食は、スパゲティー・カルボナーラ。Antonio Carlucio さんのレシピでスパゲティーの量は少し減らして2人で180g、卵は2つしかなかったので2つ、グァンチャーレもパンチェッタもなかったのでベーコンで(レシピより多めの量)、と結果的にはレシピと随分違っちゃいましたが、作り方はレシピ通り。グアンチャーレかパンチェッタならもっと風味があったとは思いますが、ベーコンでもとても美味しかったです。

Today’s dinner was Spaghetti alla Carbonara from Antonio Carlucio’s recipe.  (He reduced the amount of spaghetti from 220g to 180g for 2, which was just right portion for us.  He also used 2 eggs instead of 3 eggs as we only had 2 and used a little more bacon than the recipe.  Basically, he just followed the method.)  Unfortunately, we didn’t have Guanciale or Pancetta so he used bacon.  I know you are not supposed to use bacon but it was still very tasty.

夫は、簡単なので次回はレシピを見ずに作れるといっていましたが、わたしはこういうシンプルなものほど塩加減1つ、卵の火の通り方1つですっかり変わってしまうので美味しく作るのは難しいと思います。

 

My husband was saying how simple and easy it was and how he would be able to make it without reading the recipe next time, but I personally think that the simpler the recipe is the hard to get it just right.  Things like seasoning and how much you cook egg in this case makes such a big difference.
