今年のメインの旅行先はなかなか決まらなかったのですが、夫が「スコットランドに結婚した頃から行きたいと思っていたホテルがあるんだよね〜。」というので、じゃあスコットランドにしましょう、ということになったのでした。Inverlochy Castle というフォートウィリアムにあるホテルで、先日書いた Relais & Châteaux のホテルに泊まるようになってからずっといつか泊まって見たいと思っていたホテルだそうです。

When we were trying to decide where to go for our annual main holiday, my husband said “There is a hotel in Scotland where I’ve been wanting to stay for many many years.” so we decided to go to Scotland so we could stay in this hotel.  Apparently, he’s been wanting to stay in this particular hotel since when we first started to stay in Relais & Châteaux hotels.  It is “Inverlochy Castle” in Fort William.

場所は、前日に泊まったウィンダミアから車で５時間くらい。雨が降ったり止んだりの中、午後４時ごろ到着したと思います。到着する頃には雨は止んでいて陽が差していました。（建物の外からの写真は、出発した日の朝の写真ですが。）

It was about 5 hours by car from Windermere.  On the day when we drove there, it was raining on and off but when we arrived in the hotel around 4.00pm it had stopped raining and we had some sunshine.  (The photo of the building from the outside was taken on the morning we left.)

夫がずっと泊まりたいと思っていたホテル、期待しすぎてがっかりするのではと心配でしたが、サービスも素晴らしくてまた泊まりたくなるホテルでした。

I was a little worried that my husband may get disappointed when he actually saw the place, but it turned out to be a very nice hotel with excellent service – we would love to go back.
