昨日から夫は台湾に出張の予定でしたが、台風のために延期になりました。延期が決まってから準備する時間は十分にあったのですが、昨日は夕食を作らなくても良いつもりでいたので Jamie’s Italian に行くことに。結構広いレストランなので、平日なら大抵ギリギリでも予約が取れるようです。
My husband was going to be away on business in Taiwan from yesterday but the meetings were put off because of the Typhoon. However, as I’d thought I wouldn’t be cooking dinner yesterday, I was feeling lazy (even though there was plenty of time to prepare dinner after knowing that he’d be in Singapore), we went to Jamie’s Italian in The Forum for dinner. As the restaurant is quite large, we seem to be able to book a table even just before the dinner time when it is during the week.
夫はディナーセット、わたしは単品でパスタをオーダーして、前菜とデザートはシェアーすることにしました。
My husband ordered their set menu and I ordered a pasta dish and we shared his starter and dessert.
前菜は、マッシュルームのフライ。ごく普通に美味しかったです。
Starter was mushroom fritters. Good.
夫はメインにバーガーを選んでいました。美味しいと言っていましたが、かなり大きなバーガーで苦しがっていました。
My husband chose the burger for his main. He said it was good but it was very large and he seemed to just manage to finish it all.
わたしは、ジェナーロのボロネーゼ・タリアテッレ。１度すごく塩辛かったことがあったので少し心配しつつでしたが、むしろ薄味でした。ただ、オイルがいっぱいで少し油っこかったです。
I ordered the main-size portion of Tagliatelle with Genaro’s Bolognaise sauce. When I had it here sometime ago it was incredibly salty, so I was a little worried, but it was fine, it was actually slightly under seasoned (which is fine as I can add a little myself). The only thing was that it was much more oily than usual.
デザートは、ブラウニーを選んでいました。リッチですが（夫はもっとリッチでも良いと言っていましたがわたしには十分リッチ）、とても美味しかったです。わたしは、以前ここでいただいた中がとろっとしているチョコレートケーキよりこのブラウニーの方が好きでした。
Dessert was Brownie. It was very rich (though my husband said he wants it even more rich) but very nice. We both enjoyed it. I prefer this to the chocolate cake where the inside is melted.
ガス入りのお水１本とカラフでモンテプルチアーノの赤ワインをシェアーして、合計１5０ドルほどでした。
We shared a bottle of sparkling water and a carafe of Montepulciano and the total bill was about S$150.
