D.O.P. Mozzarella Bar

今日の夕食は、ロバートソンキーの D.O.P  Mozzarella Barに行きました。私は今回で3回目、1度目はお友達数人2度目は夫と。夫は2回目。あれからもう半年も経っていて、びっくりです。

We went to “D.O.P. Mozzarella Bar” for dinner tonight.  I’d been there twice before, once with some friends and the other time with my husband.  It’s my husband’s 2nd time.  I’m so surprised to find out it’s been a half year since we were there last.





Focaccia.  I prefer it more chewy as well as fluffy but this one is just fluffy.  Still quite good for focaccia you get in Singapore.



We had Build Your Own mozzarella starter board.  We chose a small smoked buratta cheese, mixture of cured ham and grilled vegetables.  It came in quite a large portion, I think it’s enough just to have this with some bread.





For the main I ordered Tagliatelle with Amatriciana.  This is my 3rd time to have this here and it’s different every time.  As you can see from the photo, this time there was too much sauce and the sauce has been reduced so much it was too heavy.  It also had that slightly unpleasant taste of burned (not burned as much as it’s bitter but just to the point that it’s caramelised too much and almost burned) taste.  If it was completely burned I would have complained but some people may not be able to tell that particular taste (I’m very sensitive) and if I claim it’ll take a while to cook it again and I knew I would have got too full to eat.  So I had about 2/3 of it.  I think the original sauce would have been tasty so it was a shame.  Just bad timing, I think.  It must have been reheated many times.



My husband had orechiette with Italian sausage, porcini and tomato.  It was very al dente (a little too al dente for me) but tasted good.



Then we shared Cannoli.  I had a small bite of it when I was there with my friends and thought it was good but this time I had a whole one, it’s OK, I prefer the filling to be sweeter.  Also it would be nicer if the shells are freshly cooked.




So, dry January continues.  No wine today either so we ordered 2 bottles of sparkling water and the total bill was S$120.  I think I like their starters best.
