２日目の午後のゲームドライブに出る時、夫が「１日目に遠くに見たけどまだ近くで見てないから、キリンが見たい。」とドライバーさんに言ったところ、「オーケー」とおっしゃって、数分走ったら、いました！（笑）いつもはロッジから１０分くらいは走らないとそう言う動物は見られないのですけど。だいたいどの動物がどの辺りで見れるのかご存知のようですが、このときは多分ラッキーだったのだと思います。

When we were leaving for our afternoon game drive on the 2nd day, my husband said to the guide, “I know we saw giraffes on the first evening but they were far away, can we see them closer?”.  The driver said, “OK, I think we can do that.”  A few minutes after we left the lodge, we found them near the road.  Usually we have to drive at least 10 minutes or so to see any large animals.  I know that the driver knows roughly where we are likely to see which animals but this time it must’ve just been luck.

多分、お母さんと子供。

I think they were a mother and 2 children.

ふわふわした毛がついたつのと長い睫毛が可愛い。

That fluffy hair on the ossicones and the long eye lashes make them look so cute.

こちらは、お母さん、かな？きりんてもっと人に近づいてくるイメージでしたが、余り近づいて来なかったです。

This is their mother, I guess.  I somehow had an image that giraffes tend to come close to people, but they didn’t.

出発して数分で夫の願いが叶いました（笑）。

So, my husband’s wish came true in a few minutes!

大物の中でカバをまだ見れていなかったのでカバもお願いしていたのですが、カバは翌日になりました。

We also asked the guide to show us some hippos – but that didn’t happen until the following day.
