数ヶ月前に日本に本帰国されたお友達が数日いらしているので、うちでランチをしました。チーズなどおつまみで飲んだりするのが好きな方なので、シンガポールで特に行きたいレストランがなければチーズとサラダの簡単なランチをうちでどうですかとご提案し、他にお２人お誘いして４人の集まり。パーティーとも言えない簡単ランチですがレストランよりゆっくり出来ますし、こういう集まりも良いかな、と思います。

A friend, who left for Japan for good (for now), is in Singapore for a short visit so we had lunch at home with a couple of other friends.  I cannot even call it a party, it’s a very simple lunch but I feel it’s sometimes nicer to have a meal at home rather than in a restraunt, more relaxing and more intimate even when the food is very simple.

テーブルは、お花のクラスで作ったクリスマスリースがあるので他にはなにも飾らず。濃い茶色のテーブルクロスはちょっと女性の集まりには暗いかな？とも思いましたが。

The Christmas wreath I made at a Flower Class takes quite a lot of space on the table so I didn’t put any other decoration.  I wonder if a dark brown table cloth is a bit too quiet for a girls gathering?

チーズとハムのプレート。スティルトン、チェダー、ブリードモー、アッペンツェラー、生ハム、チョリソー。無花果（硬くて熟れていなかったので、はちみつを少しのせてオーブンで焼きました、アーモンドを乾煎りして切ったものをのせています）、ドライアプリコット、ナッツのはちみつ漬け、パン、チーズビスケット。

Cheese & Ham Platter.  Stilton, Cheder, Brie de Moux, Appenzeller, Parma Ham, Chorizo.  Figs (they weren’t ripe so I cut them in half, put a little honey, baked it then sprinkled some chopped almonds), dried Apricot, nuts in honey, bread, cheese biscuits.

サラダは、さっぱりしたものを３種類。

3 light salads.

カプレーゼ。

Caprese.

クスクスサラダ。いつもはシャンツァイを加えますが、チーズとは合わない気がして今日はバジルにしました。

Couscous salad.  I usually add some coriander leaves but I wasn’t sure if it goes well with cheese, so I used basil instead today.

りんごとセロリとくるみのサラダ。ドレッシングは、日本のぷちぷちしたマスタード、はちみつ、レモン汁、オリーブオイル、塩胡椒。チーズに合うかなと少し甘めにしました。

Apple, Celery & walnut salad.  Dressing is made with Japanese grain mustad, honey, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper.  It’s a little sweeter than I usually make as I thought it would go better with cheese.

あれこれ楽しく話していたら、あっという間にお開きの時間。とても楽しかったです。発たれるときはシンガポールには度々来ますとおっしゃっていたのですけど、事情が変わってそう度々はいらっしゃれなくなった様子で、さみしい限り。他のお２人ともゆっくりお目にかかれて楽しい時間でした。次はいつどこで会えるかな〜？

We had Champagne, chatted a lot and when we looked at the time it was time for 2 of them to go home for their children, time flies when you are having fun.  The friend who is visiting was saying she would be visiting Singapore often even after she went back to Japan but things seem to have changed and she may not be visiting Singapore often, which is sad for me.  Still, it was lovely to see her and also the other 2 friends.  I wonder when and where we will meet next?
