昨日、今日は旧正月のお休みです。旧正月をお祝いする国にお住いのみなさんはゆっくりお過ごしでしょうか？ご旅行される方も多いかと思います。香港時代から馴染んでいる行事なのですが、シンガポールは中国系の方でない方も多いので香港ほどは盛り上がらず、やや中途半端な印象です。それでも、ご家族でお家で過ごす方が多く旅行されている方も多いので、街が静か。

Yesterday and today are Chinese New Year holiday here in Singapore.  I hope those who celebrate it are having good new years.  I guess many of you are travelling, too.  We are used to having Chinese New Year since we started living in Hong Kong but as there are many people who don’t celebrate Chinese New Year, in Singapore it’s not as big a celebration as it is in Hong Kong.  However, the city seems quieter somehow – because many people who celebrate it gather at home with their families and I guess many of them go away.

Hope it’s going to be a good year for everyone.
