Hoisin Chicken Stir-Fry with Red Pepper & Noodles

今日の夕食は、Hello Fresh 「Hoisin Chicken Stir-Fry with Red Pepper & Noodles」(ホイシンチキンと麺の炒め物、赤パプリカ入り)でした。入っているのは、ニンニク、生姜、赤玉ねぎ、青ネギ、赤パプリカ、インゲン、チキン、シャンツァイ。味付けは、五香粉とホイシンソースとお醤油。

Today’s dinner was Hello Fresh’s Hoisin Chicken Stir-Fry with Red Pepper & Noodles.  It has garlic, ginger, red onion, spring onion, red pepper, green beans, chicken & coriander, and is seasoned with Five Spice, Hoisin Sauce and Soy Sauce.

五香粉は昔は苦手でしたが、香港に住んでいると飲茶などにもよく使われているので慣れて今は少しなら嫌ではなくなりました。五香粉とホイシンソースとお醤油というシンプルな味付けですが、とても美味しかったです。ただ、ホイシンソースとお醤油は全部使いませんでした、Hello Fresh は味が濃いのでソースなどはいつも少なめに使うよう気をつけています。炒めた麺だけの夕食ですが、お野菜がたっぷりなので満足感もありました。

I used to dislike Five Spice but I got used to it while we were living in Hong Kong as it’s often used in Chinese cooking, including Dim Sum, and I’m OK with it now when it’s not too much.  The dish is very simply seasoned with Hoisin Sauce, Soy Sauce and Five Spice, but tasted very good, though we didn’t use all of the seasonings – we almost always leave some out as their seasonings are often too salty for us.  It is a simple meal but felt satisfactory because there was a lot of vegetables.


On the photos the colours of the table cloth and the napkins look very different.  The table cloth’s colour is similar to the photos, but napkins are also grey, a little lighter than the cloth.  I tend to like using a contrast colour whether it’s my cloth or the table but today I kept it monochromatic to let the flowers be the stars.
