昨日夫に渡したバレンタインのカードは、前日にせっせと作ったカードでした。いつも、もっと良いデザインのカードが見つかるかもと思ってついつい作るのがぎりぎりになってしまいます。今回のカードは、ずいぶん昔から良く拝見している Kristina Werner さんのこのカードを参考に作りました。ビデオで詳しく説明してくださっているので、興味のある方はリンク先からご覧になってみてくださいね。

I made the Valentine’s that I gave to my husband yesterday on the night before.  I tend to make a card for a particular person just before I need to give it or post it in general because I cannot help thinking I may find a better card design.  I refered to a card that Kristina Werner, whom I’ve been following for years,  posted on Youtube to make this card, if you would like to know how it’s made please watch her video, she shows every step on the video.

少しディストレスされたハートの形のスタンプに数種類（わたしは３種類使いました）の色のインクパッドで直接インクをのせて、上にカードの紙をのせてモノプリントのようにする作業を繰り返します。小さなインクパッドの方がやりやすいのですが、手持ちの小さなインクパッドはイギリスに来て２年間ガレージに、その後保管庫に保管している間に乾燥してしまっていて使えなくなっていて（涙）、普通の大きさのインクパッドでしたのでとてもやり辛かったです。綺麗に全体に色がついている状態ではなく少し白っぽいところを残したいのに全部に色がついてしまったり、色の乗せ方が規則的過ぎてしまったりで４、５回失敗しました。参考にしたカードはメッセージやハートはゴールドのヒートエンボスになっていますが、わたしはダイカットを使ってダイをのせました。結構気に入っています。

You ink a distressed heart shaped stamp with a few different colour inkpads, then put the cardstock on top, rub it on and transfer the ink to the paper like mono print and repeat it until you get what you like.  It’s a lot easier with mini ink cubes but the ink cubes I have seem to have gone dry while they were stored in the garage and then in a storage for 2 years during the house renovation, so I had to use normal size ink pads and it wasn’t easy.  I wanted to have some parts left in white or light colour and I had a certain image of the result in my mind but it wasn’t easy to achieve, I threw away 4 or 5 pieces of cardstock before I was happy enough with the result.  The original card has a sentiment and hearts heat embossed in gold, but I decided to use die cut using gold cardstock.  I quite like the result.
