昨夜は結構雨が降っていましたが、今朝は良いお天気になっていて、一日良いお天気でした。わたしたちが住むイギリスの南の地域は今日の夜は嵐になるそうです。エジンバラも夜は雨の予報になっていますが、明日のお天気は大丈夫な様子。

It rained overnight but it was clear this morning and has been a lovely sunny day again although it is rather breezy. We hear that in the south, where we live, a storm is expected tonight, but the weather here seems OK tomorrow.

今日は、イングランドとの境にあるボーダーズという地域までドライブして来ました。とても景色が綺麗なので何度か訪れていて、5年前に夫の弟夫婦とも一緒に行ったところです。先日から、ウィンダミアから移動した日に通ったのですが雨で残念だったので、お天気が良かた今日行って見ました。ランチをした街まで、片道1時間半くらいです。

We had a day trip to Scottish Borders today. It’s a beautiful area so we’ve been there a few times including the time when we were there with my husband’s younger brother and his wife. We did drove there when we moved from Windermere to Edinburgh but it was raining so we couldn’t enjoy the scenery much. It’s about an hour and a half to where we had lunch.

Peeblesという街でランチをしました。

5年前にも義弟夫婦とランチをした「Coleman’s」というカフェでランチ。軽くサンドイッチのつもりが、ボリュームタップリのものがきました。わたしはクラブサンド、夫はプルドポークのサンド。量が多くて途中で飽きるので、途中で変えっこしました。とても美味しかったです。

We had lunch at “Coltmans”, where we had lunch with my brother-in-law and his wife 5 years ago. We thought we’d have something light and ordered sandwiches – I had Club Sandwich and my husband had Pulled Pork Sandwich – but both were very large portions. We exchanged in the middle because there was so much of each. We did enjoy it, though.
