昨日で旅行に出て1週間経ちました。約3週間の旅行なのでほぼ３分の１が過ぎたところ。今のところ、時間がゆっくりと過ぎている気がしますが、多分後半に入ると加速するのだと思います。

A week, a third of our holiday, has passed. So far the time seems to be moving nice and slowly but I know it’ll speed up once we get into the 2nd half.

今日は、のんびりと過ごす日。借りているアパートメントのすぐ近くに和食屋さん「響」があり、ネットで調べてみたらそう悪くはなさそうだったのでランチに行って見ました。わたしは坦々麺にチキン餃子が2つついたもの、夫は汁なしタイプの坦々麺、なぜか目玉焼きが乗っている。

We had a amost-do-nothing day today. We went to a Japanese restaurant ‘Hibiki’ very near us for lunch because the reviews didn’t seem too bad. I ordered Dan Dan Noodles (which came with 2 chicken gyoza) and my husband ordered Dan Dan Noodles without soup.

いやはや、それはそれは酷かった。スープに入った坦々麺は写真では赤くて辛そうですが全然辛くありません、味も写真では濃そうですが相当水臭い、なんかよくわからない味付け。坦々麺じゃないのはもちろん、ラーメンでもない。そして麺は茹で過ぎて素麺のようになってました（涙）。夫の汁なしタイプのは2口くらいは「まだマシ」と思いましたが、3口目くらいから塩辛くて。味付け、多分日本のお醤油ではない東南アジアか中国のお醤油で味つけただけ。なぜ、これが坦々麺？まぁ、和食屋さんに坦々麺があるのも不思議ではありましたが、最近はラーメン屋さんにあったりするし、と思ってオーダーして見たのでしたが。

悲しい悲しいランチでした。

Well, it was …. pretty bad. The Dan Dan Noodles in soup looks spicy from the photo but it wasn’t spicy at all, in fact, there was very little flavour and the little flavour there was was very strange, I would not call it Dan Dan Noodles, I would not call it Ramen either. They must’ve boiled the noodles forever because there was no texture left, it was just mush. I thought the Dan Dan noodles without soup that my husband ordered were much better than the other when I tested one or two mouthfuls, but then it got more and more salty because it was basically soy sauce flavour (not Japanese soy sauce, I think it was South East Asian soy sauce). Again it was not Dan Dan noodles. I did think it was strange to have Dan Dan noodles in the menu in a Japanese restaurant but I know some ramen shops do have them in Japan so we tried them, It was really a sad lunch.

後味が悪過ぎたので何か甘いものでも食べてお口直し、と思ったカフェで食べたケーキがこれまた残念。わたしがオーダーした洋梨のタルトは、タルトじゃない（涙）。まぁ、見るからに美味しくなさそうなのにトライしたわたしが悪かった。夫は、トフィーとシナモンのマフィン、コチラは、まぁ、こんなものかな、という感じでした。

We wanted to get rid of the taste of the lunch so we decided to have tea/coffee and cake in a cafe near to our apartment. I had a Pear Tart, my husband had a Toffee & Cinnamon Muffin. Another sad experience. The Pear Tart was soggy, I wouldn’t call it tart. But then I should’ve know better, I did think it didn’t look good, much too pale. My husband’s muffin was sort of OK.

他には少しお買い物をしただけで、アパートメントに戻り、夕食までゆっくりしました。夕食は夫のお友達ご夫婦とご一緒する予定になっています。

Other than that, we did a little shopping in town then got back to the apartment and spent the rest of the afternoon. We are going to be out for dinner with my husband’s friend (from Singapore) and his wife.
