ヨークのランドマークと言えるヨーク・ミンスター（ヨーク大聖堂）は1220年から1472年に250年もの時間をかけて建てられたそうです。イングランドに残る中世のステンドグラスの半分以上がここに存在しており、東側にあるステンドグラスは世界最大級のものだそうです。

York Minster, which is one of the major landmarks of York, is run under the Dean of York. It was built over a period of 250 years, between 1220 and 1472. More than a half of all the stained glass left in England from the Middle Ages is here, and the stained glass in the east of the Minster is the largest in the world.
