Holiday Day 19 / York Castle Museum

After we had tea and cake, we went to York Castle Museum. My husband had bought tickets online in advance, but we still had to queue on the same queue as those who were buying the tickets there. What is the point of buying them in advance?

Here, a street in Victorian times is recreated, every single shop on the street is based on a real York business, all of which operated here between 1870 and 1901. The York Castle Prison cells are recreated, too. There is also an exhibition that recreates aspects of the sixties, with objects, fashon etc. They were all very interesting and it was fun to look around, I wish I had taken more photos.

Clifford’s Tower, which is right outside the York Castle Museum, which contains a model of York Castle.
