今日はお天気が良く、特に予定も入っていなかったのでひまわり畑を見に行ってきました。昔々、イギリス留学から戻って２年目だったと思うので４０年近く前、お友達とヨーロッパを旅行した時、電車からひまわり畑が見えました。フランスなどには結構あるようですが、イギリスにはところどころに入場料を払って自分で摘めるファームなどありますが、ただひまわりを栽培している畑はそれほどたくさんはないみたいです。綺麗でした！

It’s nice and sunny today and we didn’t have anything on so we went to see a sunflower field.   Nearly 40 years ago, after I went back to Japan from England, I travelled in Europe with a friend and I remember seeing sunflower fields from a train somewhere.  I hear there are many of them in France but as far as I know there aren’t that many in England although I do see some “Pick Your Own” farms here and there.

It was beautiful!

予報通り気温は２５度まで上がり、ひまわり畑では陰もないのでとても暑かったです。

The temperature went up to 25C as forecasted and there was no shade in the field so it felt very hot.
