マルセイユから、今朝、モンテ・カルロに着きました。マルセイユの港は市街から離れていてフェリー乗り場があったり貨物船が停まっていたりであまり綺麗ではなかったのですが、ここ、モンテカルロは街のすぐそばにあり、港からの景色もとても良いです。
We arrived from Marseille to Monte Carlo this morning. The port of Marseille is quite away from the city and is a working port so the view from our ship wasn’t very pretty, but here in Monte Carlo, the port is very near the city and the view from the ship is beautiful.
今日も、朝早くからエクスカーションに参加しました。今日のエクスカーションは有料jのもので、朝8時45分に集合して船に戻るのが夕方5時15分ごろと8時間半の長丁場でした。今、夕食前ですが今の時点で12300歩歩いたので、寝るまでに多分14000歩くらいになるかと思います。ちなみに、夫の歩数とわたしの歩数は毎回結構違っていて、夫が別行動をしたわけではないのに何故か夫の歩数の方が多いのです。調べてみたところ、わたしが使っているアップルのアプリでは、実際よりも少ない歩数になるそう。（夫は違うアプリを使っています。）
We joined an excursion again today. We met the guide at 8:45am and got back on the ship aorund 5:15pm, so the excursion was 8 and a half hours, the longest one we will join on this trip. It is now before dinner and I’ve walked 12,300 steps so far so I guess probably about 14,000 before I go to bed. Incidentally, on this holiday, my husband’s steps have always been more than mine even though he hasn’t taken any exztra walks or anything. Apparently, Apple’s application can underestimate the number of steps.
エクスカーションで行った場所は、エゼ（Eze）という坂の上にある小さな村、ニース、モナコ、モンテカルロ。今日もやはり写真の同期がうまく出来ないので、写真数枚だけのアップになります。
エゼはとても素敵な村でした。ただ、観光客多く、シーズンオフの今でさえ結構な人だったので（道が狭いので余計そう感じます）観光シーズンは大変なことになると思います。
We first visited Eze, a little village on top of a hill, then Nice, Monaco & Monte Carlo. The syncing of my iPhone photos with my iPad where i do blogging still doesn’t work well, so just a few photos today.
Eze was a very charming little village but a lot of visitors were walking along narrow streets, it’s still out of season here but it must be so busy during the summer,
ニースでは自由時間が1時間弱あったので、軽いランチをしました。ガイドさんが美味しいと教えてくださったカイザーのパン屋さんでサンドイッチを買って、その後、その近くの、やはりガイドさんが美味しいと教えてくださったジェラート屋さんでジェラート。困ったのは、買ったサンドイッチを食べるところがなかったこと。海沿いにどこか座れるかと思ったのですが日陰がなく座るところもなく、仕方なく木陰で立ったまま食べました。
In Nice, we had about an hour’s free time so we had an early lunch with sandwiches we bought from the Kyser bakery, which the guide recommended, and then gelato from the gelateria that the guide also recommended. Niee seemed like a lovely town, too. The problem was that we couldn’t find anywhere to have the take-away sandwiches. We thought there would be somewhere to sit near the beach but there wasn’t, so we ended up eating standing under a tree.
カヌレも見かけたので1つ買ってみました。外はカリカリではなくしっとりとしてしまっていましたが、もちもちでラムの味がしっかりとしていて、美味しかったです。
We also bought a Cannoule from the same bakery. The outside is supposed to be crunchy but it was soft, but inside was nice and chewy and it tasted nicely of rum, we enjoyed it very much.
ジェラートは写真を撮るのを忘れて食べてしまい、ほとんど食べた後ですが（笑）、これは塩キャラメル、もう1つはピスタチオとチョコレート、でした。
I’d forgotgten to take photos before we started eating the gelato, and by the time I remembered this was all we had left. This one is Salted Caramel, the other one was Pistachio & Chocolate.
次のストップは、モナコ。モナコ・グランプリのスタート地点なども通りました。モナコもとても美しいところでした。
Next stop was Monaco. We drove along the starting area of where the Monaco F1 Grand Prix will take place in a few weeks. Monaco was very beutiful, too!
モナコから見えた、わたしたちの船。わたしたちの船が今シーズン初めて寄港した船だそうです。
We could see our ship easily from Monaco. Apparently, ours is the first cruise ship that docked here this season.
そして、最後のストップが船が停まっているモンテカルロ。モンテカルロはカジノに興味がなければ、あまり見るところもすることもないように感じました。
Then the last stop, Monte Carlo. We thought there wasn’t much to see or do unless you are interested in the Casino.
右側のカフェで夫はビール、わたしはガス入りのお水を飲んで、時間まで一休み。
At the cafe on the right, my husband had beer and I had sparkling water and had a rest until it was time to meet the others for the return drive to the ship.
