ブログが2日ほど遅れていて、今日はイギリスに帰る日です。あっという間に2週間の旅行が終わってしまいました（涙）。また、ゆっくりと書きますが、初めてのクルーズは本当に楽しくて時間が経つのが早すぎました。お天気にも恵まれて（ヨーロッパはヒートウェーブ中らしく、暑いくらいです）、楽しい旅行でした。
I’m late with my blog by a couple of days and today we are heading home! The 2 weeks holiday flew by so fast, I wish we had another week! I’ll write about the cruise properly once I’m home but our first cruise was fantastic, it went too fast and we had a wonderful time. The weather has been amazing for the whole time (we have been in ‘heatwave’ for the last one week or so, I think) and a little too hot for me for the last few days, but I really cannot complain.
さて、2日前の13日は船を降りる日でした。荷物を自分で運ぶ人以外は前日の夜10時までにお部屋の外に出しておくようにと指示されていて、わたしたちは早い時間に荷造りを済ませ、夕食に出る前に荷物は出しておきました。
Now, two days ago, on the 13th, we disembarked the ship. We were instructed to put our luggage outside the stateroom by 10:00pm on the night before unless you want to carry your own luggage, so we packed quite early and put our luggage outside our room before we went for dinner.
この、前日に荷物を出すというのが結構ストレスで、絶対に必要なもの（パスポートなど）は必ず持っていなくてはいけませんし、船を降りる当日に着る予定のもの、朝必要なものを荷物に入れてしまうと当日使えないので大変なことになります。時々、当日着る服を忘れてバスローブで下船する人もいるようです（笑）。それは、あまりに恥ずかしい。何度も夫と確認をし合って、滞りなく当日は下船することが出来ました。
This ‘packing on the night before’ was quite stressful for us because you have to make sure you have everything you need, not only things like passports but also everything you will be wearing on the next day, all the things you need in the morning like wash bag, hair brushes etc etc. We checked with each other multiple times before taking our luggage out and all went well. I hear there have been people who forgot to pack clothes to wear on the next day and had to disembark in their bathrobes – how embarrassing would that be?
なにしろ960人ほとんどの人が下船するわけなので（中にはこの先、そのままクルーズを続ける人もいるそうですが）、どんな風にするのだろうかと思っていましたが、システムが整おっていて結構スムーズに行われました。朝8時までにお部屋を出て、それぞれに知らされている時間に船の中のある場所に行き、時間になると順番に呼ばれる、というシステムです。
Since most of the passangers (960 of them) are disembarking at the same time (although apparenlty there are some people who are continuing the cruise on the same ship) I was wondering how they will organise it, but they had a very good system, which worked well. We were told to be out of our room before 8:00am and go to a place on the ship by a certain time depending on which group you are allocated to and then they call you when it’s your turn.
わたしたちの下船時間は9時15分ということだったので、8時前にお部屋を出て、船での最後の食事、わたし達にとっては最初で最後だった朝食をワールドカフェで取りました。（クルーズ中は、朝食はわたしだけでなく夫もとっていませんでした。）
Our time was 9:15am so after leaving our room before 8:00am, we had our last meal on the ship, which was the first and the last breakfast, at World Cafe. (We didn’t have breakfast at all during the cruise.)
荷物につけるタグは下船時間によって色分けされていて、当日のフライトが早い人から下船できるようになっていて、わたしたちはクルーズの一部（追加可能）になっているベニスのホテルに2泊するプランだったので急ぐ必要がなかったため、最後の方でした。9時15分に集まるように言われていましたが、実際に呼ばれたのは9時45分頃だったと思います。多少の待ち時間はありましたが、全てがスムーズに行われたのでストレスは感じませんでした。
The tags you are given to put on your luggage have different colours for each disembarkation group and those who need to get off early for certain flights left earlier. In our case, we were going to stay in a hotel in Venice, which was an option of the cruise, so we were called nearly at the end. The time we were given was 9:15 and I think we were called around 9:45.
船から降りると色別に荷物が固められていて、自分の荷物を持ち、自分たち用のボートまで荷物を持って行ってそこでまた荷物を預かってもらい、ボートに乗り込みます。
Once you are off the ship, you will find an area, where all the luggage of the same colour tags are collected, and you identify yours which is then taken away for transportation to the destination appropriate.
因みに、わたしたちは今回のクルーズのために買っていた荷物の取手にくるっと巻いて目印にするものをつけていたので、すぐに見つかりました。クルーズでなくても空港で荷物を受け取る時も目印になって便利だと思います。
Incidentally, we bought these eye catching wraps that you put on the handles of your luggage for this cruise and they were very useful. I think these are useful to find your luggage on a carousel at an airport, too.
