昨日、今日はとても良いお天気になったので、今日は紅葉を見に出かけて来ました。インスタグラムでチェックしていたら、今綺麗な時期のようだったので、何度か行っている Sheffield Park & Garden に行きました。車で片道１時間１５分くらい。途中の景色も綺麗でした。

As it’s been lovely weather yesterday and today, we went out to see some autumn leaves.  I’ve checked on Instagram and it looked like it was the right time for autumn leaves so we went to “Sheffield Park & Garden”.  We’d been there a few times and it’s always beautiful.  It takes about an hour and a quarter from here.  The scenery on the way was beautiful, too.

 

 

 

 

去年は少しピークを過ぎていた感じでしたが、今年は多分今がピーク。久しぶりにお天気が良いということもあって混んでいて、「パーキングはフルで、空きが出るまで多分４５分くらいかかりますよ、引き返すならここから引き返せます。」と言われましたが、どんどん出てくる車があったので、すぐに空きが見つかりました。

When we went there last year it was a little after the peak but this year we got it just right. As the weather wasn’t good until yesterday and has been great the last couple of days, it was very busy.  We were told by a guy standing to direct the traffic near the car park that the car park was full and it’ll probably take about 45 minutes to get a space so we could turn around there and leave if we would like, but many cars were coming out and we got a space straight away.

イギリスは葉っぱが赤くなる木は少なくて、ほとんどが茶色か黄色なのですが、ここには結構赤くなる木もあるのでグリーンと茶色と黄色と赤が混ざってとても綺麗です。日本のように見渡す限り真っ赤、というインパクトはないですが、グリーンとのコントラストも綺麗なものです。お天気が良かったので、特別輝いて見えました。たくさんの写真ですが、選べないのでアップしてしまいます。

There aren’t many trees in England whose leaves turn red in autumn, most of them go brown or yellow, or stay green.  In this park, there are quite a lot of trees, of which the leaves turn red so the mixture of green, brown, yellow & red looks very pretty.  Of course it’s not as impactful as the well-known places for autumn leaves in Japan, where all you can see is red leaves, but the contrast of green and yellow and red does look very pretty, specially with the sun hitting them.  I have too many photos but cannot choose so I’m going to post most of them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ぐるっと歩いた後は、お決まりのお茶とケーキ。ポピーシードとレモンのケーキをシェアー。味は良かったですが、パッサパサでした（涙）、お茶で流し込まないと流れない。

After walking most of the garden, as always, we had tea & cake (shared one) in the cafe.  The cake was poppy seed and lemon cake.  It tasted good but was very very dry, so dry that you cannot swallow it without tea.
