クリスマス用に買ったケーキやチョコレートや他のいろいろなものが、まだまだ残っています。去年も食べ終わったのは夏でした。
We still have a lot of what we bought for the Christmas period (cakes, chocolates, biscuits, other sweets…). Last year it was until the summer that we finished all, I guess it’ll be the same this year.
今日は遅いランチだったので夕食はなしで、テレビを見ながらお茶とM&Sのクリスマスケーキをいただきました。正確にはクリスマスケーキではなく、フルーツ＆ナッツケーキです。クリスマスケーキはヘビー過ぎてわたしは苦手なのでこれの方が食べやすいと思ったのですが、これも結構ヘビーでわたしは苦手でした。ケーキが入っていた缶よりもかなり小さかったので、夫が喜んで残りを食べると思います。
As we had a late lunch, we didn’t have an evening meal but had a small piece each of the M&S Christmas cake. Strictly speaking it’s “Jewelled Fruit & Nut Cake” rather than Christmas cake. I personally find Christmas cake too heavy so bought this one thinking it would be much lighter, but this one is quite heavy, too, so not my type of cake. It was quite a lot smaller than the tin so I’m sure my husband will manage to eat the rest.
