今日は、晴れのち曇り、一時雨がぱらつくというお天気でしたが、週末は良いお天気になるようです
The weather wasn’t too bad, bright and sunny to start with, then became a little cloudy and we had a few sprinkles of rain. It looks like it’ll be nice and sunny this weekend.
今日の夕食は、Hello Fresh の「Fragrant Sach Ko Ang Inspired Beef & Pork Meatball Baguette (with Pickled Carrot Salad & Peanuts)]
香りの良い Sach Ko Ang 風ビーフとポークのミートボールのバゲットサンド、人参のピクルスのサラダとピーナッツ_、というものでした。Sach Ko Ang というのはカンボジアでほとんどのお料理に使われるスパイスやチリや生姜などをミックスしたペースト状のものだそうなので、本来はスパイシーなのだと思います。そして、本来は肉団子ではなくビーフをマリネして串に刺して焼くようです。今日、ミートボールに入っているのはお水やパン粉の他にニンニクと、生姜、ニンニク、レモングラスのピューレ、お醤油、塩胡椒なので辛さは全くありません。次回オーダーした時はチリを足してみようと思います。生姜やレモングラスもマイルドでした。ミートボールが焼き上がってから蜂蜜をかけるので、甘辛い味付けです。お醤油が多めだったので次回は減らそうと思います。なかなか美味しかったです!ハーブやスパイスやチリを足せば、もっと本格的な味を楽しめそうです。人参のピクルス(即席で作るもの)のサラダに入れるピーナッツを入れ忘れたことを洗いものをしていて気づきました(笑)、入れれば更に美味しかったはず。
Today’s dinner was Fragrant Sach Ko Ang Inspired Beef & Pork Meatball Baguette (with Pickled Carrot Salad & Peanuts). Sach Ko Ang is a paste made from a mixture of things like garlic, ginger, lemongrass, chilli and spices, but what we had to add to the meatballs were breadcrumbs, garlic, a mixture of ginger, garlic & lemon grass, soy sauce, and salt & pepper – so it wasn’t spicy at all, I think we’ll add some chillis next time when we order this. Also it’s inspired by skewered beef pieces marinaded in this mixture before being barbecued. The flavour of ginger & lemon grass was very mild and I would have liked to taste them more. After the meatballs are cooked, you drizzle some honey over so they were salty & sweet. I think we’ll add less soy sauce next time. If we add more herbs/spices & chillis they’ll taste more like what you get in Cambodia – not that I’ve ever been there. Anyway, they were quite tasty and we enjoyed them. We realised when we were doing the washing up that we had forgotten to add the crushed peanuts to the salad before serving. This would have added extra crunch and flavour.
