今日はお昼過ぎにチチェスターのネイルサロンに予約を入れていたので、少し早めに出て「Franco Manca」でサクッとランチをしました。チチェスターで美味しいレストランというのが本当になくて、このところお昼はここに行くことがほとんどです。いつもオーダーする、チョリソや炒めた玉ねぎなどがのったピッツァ。いつもはサラダも食べるのですがあまり美味しくもないので、今日はピッツァのみ。６回行くと１回ピッツァ１枚無料になり、今日はその無料の日でした。
I had an appointment at a nail salon in Chichester after lunch time so we left a little early and had a quick lunch at Franco Manca today. We cannot find many good restaurants in Chichester and we have been going to this Pizza restaurant often recently. We ordered our usual – the one with chorizo and caramelised onion. We have been having a salad each with this in the past but today we decided not to, their salad is quite boring and seems like a waste of money. When you have had 6 pizzas you get 1 free and we had the free one today.
1ヶ月も留守にしているといろいろなことを忘れていたりして、何かと支障が出る気がします。1ヶ月というより、何ヶ月もいなかったような感覚で、ネイルサロンに早めに予約を入れなくてはいけないことをすっかり忘れていました。今日の予約は何週間も前に入れていたのですが、この後入れるのをうっかりしていて、ふと今日、ネイルをしていただいている時に、そういえばクリスマスが近いから早く入れないといけないのだったと思い出したのでした。最初は１２月末までフルブッキングだとのことでしたが、なんとか２つアポが取れました。ネイルをしていなくても大した問題ではないものの、サロンに行かないと取れないのが問題なのと、やはりせっかくならクリスマスの時期はしておきたいので、取れなければどこか他を探さないといけないなと思っていましたが、取れて良かったです。日本でしてもらったジェルネイルは同じシャラックという名前ですがこちらのものよりも硬くて２週間以上保ちますが、こちらのはわたしの場合は１０日ほどで欠けてくることが多く、欠けると目立ってしていない方が良いくらいなので面倒といえば面倒です。
When you are away for a month, you (well, at least I) tend to forget things because you are out of practice, there have been a few things I’d forgotten to do. One of them is to make an appointment with the nail salon a few weeks in advance. I did make the appointment for today quite a few weeks ago, but had forgotten to make further appointments. I remembered this while I was having my nails done today specially because Christmas is coming. I was told they were fully booked until end of December at first but then they checked again and fortunately found 2 slots for me, which I’m grateful for. It doesn’t matter that much if I don’t have my nails done but the problem is I cannot take them off myself and they’ll start looking awful after 10 days or so in my case. The ones I had done in Japan lasted me 2 and a half weeks but not the one here, they are both called Shellac but they are a little different, the ones I had done in Japan are more durable and come off easily. 10 days isn’t very long so I feel like I’m there all the time.
今日は久しぶりにすごくお天気が良く日差しがが眩しかったです。この時期は太陽がすごく低いので車の運転も大変な眩しさ。このところずっとお天気が悪かったので、久しぶりの良いお天気で、そしてクリスマス前の活気もあって街に出ている人たちがとても楽しそうに見えました。土曜日でお天気も良くブラックフラーデーのセールもありクリスマスが近づいているということで、多くの方達がお買い物をされていました。
There haven’t been many sunny days in England probably for nearly 2 months, but it was a very bright day today and the sun was very bright in our eyes, so much so that it was hard for my husband to drive. With such lovely weather, lots of people were doing shopping in town specially because The Black Friday Sale is one and Christmas is coming close. People looked very happy and the town was buzzing.
