ホテルに1時過ぎに到着しましたがチェックインには早かったので荷物だけを置いて、街に出ました。今日は夕食の時間が早いので何か軽いものをランチにしようと思い、事前に調べて、歩いて10分ほどのところにある「セントニコラスマーケット」の中近東のラップのスタンドでランチをすることにしました。行ってみると似たようなスタンドがたくさんあり、似たようなラップを売っているお店も沢山ありましたが、とりあえず、下調べした時に美味しそうだったMATINAというスタンドで、わたしはグリルチキンのラップ、夫はハルミチーズのラップとペプシを買いました。チキンのラップは6ポンド50（1170円）、ハルミチーズと野菜のラップは6ポンド80（1225円）。中近東料理なのに何故ナンのラップなのかは不思議なのですが、ふんわりしたナンで美味しかったですし、わたしのラップの中身はグリルチキンの他に赤キャベツや玉ねぎやピクルスなどとスパイシーなソースが入っていて、味は濃いめでしたがとても美味しかったです。ただ、夫のラップはお野菜の水分が多かったのか液体がこぼれ出てきて、夫はジーンズを汚してしまっていました。
We arrived at the hotel in Bristol a little after 1:00pm. As the room wasn’t ready, we left the luggage and went out. We were going to have dinner very early today so we wanted something light for lunch so we thought we would have a wrap from a little food stand in St. Nicholas Market, which is about 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. There were many little food stands there and many of them seem to be selling similar wraps but we went to “MATINA” as I saw a lot of good reviews online when I researched. I had Grilled Chicken Wrap (£6.50) and my husband had Haloumi cheese & Vegetable Wrap (£6.80). I don’t know why they use Naan for wraps when they call themselves Middle Eastern Food stand but it was actually very nice. The filling of my wrap was also very tasty although it was on the salty side. It came with red cabbage, onion, some pickles, spicy sauce etc. You do have to be careful, though, when you eat it as my husband had lots of dripping from the bottom of the wrap onto his jeans.
