火曜日は、夫のお誕生日だったので、朝、朝食の後、夫はみんなからカードやプレゼントをもらいました。それぞれに一生懸命特別なプレゼントを考えてくれたことがわかるプレゼントばかりで、夫もとても嬉しそうでした。
Tuesday was my husband’s birthday, so after breakfast, the family all gave him their cards and presents. Presents were all lovely, you could see that everyone put a lot of thought into choosing something special for my husband and he loved every present.
確か、この日は１日雨模様で、写真も撮っていないようなので、わたしたちはどこにも出かけず、お水だとかフルーツだとか足りないものを買いにスーパーに行っただけだったと思います。（他のメンバーは出かけていたと思います、みんな、雨でも平気。）
I think it rained all day this day, I cannot find any photos so I think we stayed in the house all day although we did go to a supermarket to get some bits and pieces that we needed. (Others went out, I think, because rain doesn’t seem to bother them.)
この日のディナーは、お誕生日のお祝いディナーということで、「The Yard 」というカジュアルなレストランに行きました。ネットでのレビューもとても良かったですし、ベジタリアン向けのものも結構たくさんあり、10ヶ月の赤ちゃんを連れて行ってもオーケーとのことでした。オーナーの男性がサービスにあたってくださいましたが、とてもフレンドリーで感じが良かったです。わたしたちのテーブルは他の方達のテーブルのお部屋とは別になっていたので赤ちゃんが多少泣いてもそれほど気を使わずいられ（２度くらい泣いていましたが、すぐにどちらかの親が抱いて歩くと泣き止みました）、７人という大人数なのでうるさくなりがちだと思いますがそれもそれほど気を使わずいられて、楽しく食事が出来ました。
So the dinner was a birthday dinner for my husband and, after searching online before we left for the holiday, I chose “The Yard” because all the reviews I saw of the place were very good, they had quite good selections of dishes for vegetarians, and they were fine with us taking a 10 month old baby. The owner guy served our table, he was very friendly and chatty and very nice. Our table was in a smaller room separate from the larger main room with more tables, which was great because we didn’t have to worry too much about the baby (she was great and cried only a couple of times. When one of the parents picked her up she stopped crying quickly). Even without a baby when you are a large group like we were you do tend to get louder so we found it great that we were in a separate area.

いただいたものはどれも美味しかったですし、スタッフの皆さんもフレンドリーで感じが良かったですし、とても楽しいバースデー・ディナーで、良い思い出が出来ました。またアップルドアに行ったら必ずまたこのレストランに行きたいと思います。
Everything was very tasty, the staff was all very friendly and lovely, and we had a fantastic birthday dinner. If we return to Appledore, we will make sure to return to this restaurant.
