Birthday Celebration / Lunch At A Cafe In Barnstaple

Back to our holiday in Appledore.  On Friday, all the others wen to Baggy Point, which is where we went on Sunday.  Our niece was going home in London this day so we took her to the station of Barnstaple first, then had lunch at a cafe.  It was about 30 minutes by car.  My husband said Barnstaple was a town you hear all the time and wellknown so he expected it to be a bigger and nicer town, but it was quite small and wasn’t particularly attractive.

We had lunch at “The Lemon Tree Cafe” that my husband found online.

My husband had, I think, Egg Benedict with ham.

I had American Breakfast Pancake “taco”, which was served like this.  Now, I wonder how you are supposed to eat it.  It was impossible to pick up ‘a taco’ without letting everything fall off!  In the end I put all of them on the plate to eat.  I didn’t like the bacon or the egg (overdone to me) but enjoyed the sausages and the pancakes.  The staff was very nice and friendly.

We walked around the town, spent a little time in the bookshop before going back to the house in Appledore.
