今日は、朝の9時から午後4時過ぎまでエトナ山のジープでのプライベートツアーに参加しました。
We took a private tour of Mt Etna by jeep, which started at 9:00am and finished a little after 4:00pm.
エトナ山は今も度々噴火する活火山ですが、危険な噴火ではないようです。最近では今年6月に噴火があり、そろそろフライトやホテル予約をしようと思っていた時だったのですが少し様子を見てから(場合によってはフライトのキャンセルなどがあるかもと思い)予約を決めました。
Mt Etna is an active volcano and erupts quite often but the eruptions are not regarded to be dangerous. The last eruption was in June this year, when we were talking about booking our flights and the hotel of this trip. We put the bookings off a little to make sure it would be fine to come here for a holiday.
今日のツアーでは、流れて来て固まった溶岩の最後の部分を見たりクレーター2つを見にハイキングをしたり、溶岩で出来た洞窟に入ったり、溶岩ゴージ(渓谷)を見学したりととても楽しく勉強にもなりました。
We were taken to see many places including where you see the end of the lava flow, to 2 craters (we hiked for an hour or so), to a cave made of lava and a lava gorge. We learned a lot about Mt Etna, eruptions and lava.
写真も少しアップしておきますが、説明なしでは余りよくわからないので、家に戻ってから説明入りで改めてアップしようと思います。
