クリスマス当日のランチタイムに滞在していた Gidleigh Park Hotel でクリスマスディナーをいただきましたが、我が家のクリスマスディナーが一番美味しい、と思っているのでやはり今年も遅れてですがクリスマスディナーを作りました。日本、香港、シンガポールではずっとターキー（七面鳥）を丸ごと焼いていましたが、イギリスに来てからは胸肉に詰め物をしてベーコンを載せた状態で売られていてあとは焼くだけというものを購入しています。今年はマークス＆スペンサーの２人分の小さなものを買いました。それでもだいぶん余っていて十分でした。
We did have ‘Christmas Dinner” at Gidleigh Park at lunch time on Christmas Day, but we feel it’s never as good as what we cook at home, so today we cooked our own ‘Christmas Dinner. In Japan, Hong Kong & Singapore we (my husband) always cooked a whole turkey but since we moved to England we switched to a stuffed and rolled turkey breast (we buy it that way so we can just cook it). This year we bought a small one for 2 people from M&S but it was plenty for us, there is still some left.
真ん中の手前からピッグ・イン・ブランケット（ソーセージにベーコンを巻いたもの）、ターキーの胸肉（スタッフィング入り）、ローストポテト、茹でた芽キャベツ、アメリカ式のスタッフィング（わたしがアメリカ式のカリカリのが好きなので）、ヨークシャープディング、真ん中がパースニップ。ローストポテトとパースニップはちょっと焼きたらなかったかなという感じでしたが、それでもとても美味しかったです！
From the middle front, pigs in blankets, turkey with stuffing, roast potato, Brussel sprouts, American style stuffing (I prefer this to English), Yorkshire pudding, then in the middle parsnips. The roast potatoes and parsnips could have done with a few minutes longer in the oven but they were still very good.
今年は、ヨークシャープディングも焼きました、うまく大きく膨らみました。
We had Yorkshire Pudding, too. They worked well.
ローストには不可欠なグレービー。

最後にチーズ。奥はブルー・スロプシャー、手前はドーセット・ブルー・ビニー（デボンに行く途中で義兄家族と軽くランチをしたと時にいただきました）、美味しかったです！
Cheese after the above. One is Blue Shropshire and the other is Dorset Blue Vinny (we had lunch with my husband’s elder brother and his family in Dorset on our way down to Devon and they gave us this cheese), which we enjoyed.
いつもだとデザートにクリスマスプディングとミンスパイをいただくのですが、ミンスパイはわたしが焼き忘れ、クリスマスプディングは夫がお腹いっぱいすぎて食べられない（色々お代わりしていたので）ということで、今日は甘いデザートはなしでした。
We usually have Christmas Pudding and Mince Pies as a dessert but I forgot to bake mince pies and my husband said he was too full to have Christmas Pudding – that was a first! He did have a second serving and also he did have Christmas Pudding at the hotel – so no sweet dessert today.
