Christmas Dinner At Home

クリスマス当日のランチタイムに滞在していた Gidleigh Park Hotel でクリスマスディナーをいただきましたが、我が家のクリスマスディナーが一番美味しい、と思っているのでやはり今年も遅れてですがクリスマスディナーを作りました。日本、香港、シンガポールではずっとターキー（七面鳥）を丸ごと焼いていましたが、イギリスに来てからは胸肉に詰め物をしてベーコンを載せた状態で売られていてあとは焼くだけというものを購入しています。今年はマークス＆スペンサーの２人分の小さなものを買いました。それでもだいぶん余っていて十分でした。 We did have ‘Christmas Dinner” at Gidleigh Park at lunch time on Christmas Day, but we feel it’s never as good as what we cook at home, so today we cooked our own ‘Christmas Dinner.  In Japan, Hong Kong & Singapore we (my husband) always cooked a whole turkey but…

Yesterday & Today

昨日、デボンから戻りました。イギリスに引っ越してきた６年前から、コロナがまだ心配だった年以外は毎年同じホテル（Gidleigh Park）でクリスマスを過ごしています。２年くらい前から「そろそろ、どこか別のホテルい行く？」と話してはいるのですが、クリスマスの時期は宿泊料金がとても高くなるので、そこまで出してがっかりだったらと心配で、だったらやっぱり同じところに行く方が安全かな、ということでずっと同じホテルです。今年も最後の日に一応来年のクリスマスステイを予約して来ましたが（大きなホテルではないので、同じお部屋に泊まりたい場合、１年前から予約を入れる人が多いのです）、やっぱり、「もうそろそろ。。。。」「でもね。。。」となりました。 We got back home yesterday from Devon.  Since we moved to England, which is 6 years ago, we’ve been spending Christmas at Gidleigh Park every year (except for one year, when we didn’t feel comfortable to stay there because Corona was still spreading), but maybe a couple of years ago we started to…

Christmas In Gidleigh Park In Devon

今日から大好きなデボンのホテルに3泊して、のんびりクリスマスを楽しみます。 ホテルに着いたら、丁度、クリスマスキャロルの演奏中。暖炉の側のソファでホットワイン(モルドワイン)とミンスパイをいただきながら、クリスマス気分を満喫。 We are at our favourite hotel in Devon for 3 nights to enjoy a relaxing Christmas. Dinner At Purchases In Chichester

Pasta With Tomato & Bacon Sauce

日曜日の夕食は、パスタでした。ソースは、冷凍していたトマトソースにベーコンを足したもの。炭水化物を減らす努力中なので、前菜に少しサラダをいただいてからパスタ。 Our dinner last Sunday was Pasta.  I made the sauce by adding sauteed bacon to the tomato sauce that I had made and frozen a while ago.  We are trying to reduce carbohydrates so we had a salad first, then the pasta.       そして、デザートに前日にフランス菓子教室で作ったクリスマスケーキ。夫には余っていたチョコレートのガナッシュもおまけ。 We also had a dessert – the Christmas…
