今日は、家で軽くランチをした後、「Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens」に今が季節のさつき、つつじ、石楠花を見に行ってきました。２年前に行った時は特にロック・ガーデンのつつじが見事だったのですが、今年は少し遅かったみたいです。その代わり、石楠花がきれいに咲いていました。場所によっても種類によっても咲く時期が少しずつ違うので、４、5、６月に行けばそれなりに楽しめると思います。お天気予報を見ていて明日行こうと思っていたのですが、ランチをしていたらお天気がとても良かったので、急遽、ランチの後行くことにしました。今日も明日も曇り時々晴れ、という予報で大きな雲が時々現れては太陽が顔をだすというお天気なのでタイミングが難しいところでしたが、幸い、ちょうどわたしたちが歩いていた時はとても良いお天気でした。気温が低めなので風もあって歩き始めは寒かったのですが、たくさんの坂道を歩いている間に温まりました。歩き終わってお茶とケーキをいただく頃には結構大きな雲に覆われて来ていたので、一番お天気が良い時間帯に歩けたようで良かったです。 After we had a quick lunch at home, we headed to “Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens” to see azeleas and rhododendrons. Lunch At Cowdray Farm Shop Cafe

昨日、デボンから戻りました。イギリスに引っ越してきた６年前から、コロナがまだ心配だった年以外は毎年同じホテル（Gidleigh Park）でクリスマスを過ごしています。２年くらい前から「そろそろ、どこか別のホテルい行く？」と話してはいるのですが、クリスマスの時期は宿泊料金がとても高くなるので、そこまで出してがっかりだったらと心配で、だったらやっぱり同じところに行く方が安全かな、ということでずっと同じホテルです。今年も最後の日に一応来年のクリスマスステイを予約して来ましたが（大きなホテルではないので、同じお部屋に泊まりたい場合、１年前から予約を入れる人が多いのです）、やっぱり、「もうそろそろ。。。。」「でもね。。。」となりました。 We got back home yesterday from Devon. The Connaught
ロンドンでは、今回はコノート・ホテルに宿泊しました。ずいぶん昔に泊まったことがありましたが、久しぶりでした。わたしたちが行きたいところが比較的近くにあって便利でした。 We stayed at The Connaught on our London trip this time. We’d stayed there many years ago and since then the have built a new wing, which is where our room was. Many places we wanted to go to were within walking distance of the hotel, which was good.
Dinner At “Bubala” In London
昨日のランチはソーホーの「Bubala」というベジタリアンの中近東料理のレストランに行きました。マンゴーやライムオイルを乗せたフムス(凄く滑らかでねっとりした食感が美味しかった)きゅうりのサラダ(中華風な味付け)、ファラフェル(ドライ過ぎず美味しかった)、人参のロースト(外側焦げ過ぎ、中は柔らか過ぎ、味付けはしょっぱ過ぎてこれはわたしは食べられなかった)。フラットブレッドも美味しかったです。 We went to a vegetarian Middle-Eastern restaurant, “Bubala” in Soho. 昨日のディナーは、ソーホーのスリランカ料理のレッスン「ホッパーズ」で。スリランカには旅行で行ったので色々思い出しながら、美味しく頂きました。セットがお得でした。 We had dinner at a Sri Lankan restaurant, “Hoppers”.
