今日は２週間に１度の刺繍の集まりがある日で、特別ゲストのお話がある日でした。集まりに参加する前にいつも送り迎えをしてくださるお隣のお友達と一緒に、アランデルの「The Swan Hotel」でランチをしました。わたしは、ソーセージサンド、美味しくいただきました。 There was an Embroidery gathering today and we had a guest speaker. My 2nd Embroidery
しばらく前に完成していた２つ目の刺繍、アップするのを忘れていました。３Dの刺繍が中心で、結構難しかったです。特に難しかったのが、薔薇の刺繍などによく使われるバリオンステッチ、針にくるくる糸を巻きつけて針を抜くのですが、YouTubeなどで見てみるとみなさん大体１０回くらいしか巻いていなくて、それだと出来るのですが、このキットの説明書きには３０回とか巻いていて、針がなかなか抜けないのです。途中から少なめにすることで解決しましたが、それでも結構形を作るのが難しかったです。 Here is my second embroidery kit completed, I’d forgotten to blog it. ２つ目の刺繍は、これにしました。前回はウールの糸でしたが、今回はDMCのコットンの糸。今回もキットを買いました。色々なステッチがあり立体的なのも多いので楽しそうと思って買って見ました。実際楽しいのですが、１つずつやり方を見ないとわからないものが多く、結構難しくて綺麗な形にはなりません。やり直したところもありますが、何度もすると糸が足りなくなるのでそこそこのところで妥協しています。 My second embroidery project is this one, this time it’s DMC cotton threads, not wool like the last one. 持って来た刺繍キット、刺し終わってしまいました。 I finished the embroidery kit I brought. これをどうするかが問題です。初めての刺繍ですし小さなものなのでクッションに仕上げたり額に入れる気にはならないので、このまま、かな。 The question is what I should do with it. It’s a small piece and my first trial so I don’t want to make a cushion or put it in a frame or anything like that. Maybe I’ll leave it just as it is.

一応、刺繍キットを持ってきたのですが、まずしないだろうなと思っていました。リゾートに来てまで刺繍をしなくてもという気がして1日目、2日目はする気にならなかったのですが、本を読んだり携帯でネットをしているとついつい眠くなってうとうとしてしまい、そのうち横になってしっかりお昼寝してしまい、ゴロゴロし過ぎて腰や背中が痛くなって来たので（笑）、今日は刺繍をすることに。思っていたように刺繍をしていると眠くはならなかったので良かったです。でも、旅行中に仕上げてしまいそうです。 I brought the embroidery kit I’m working on with me for the holiday, although I didn’t think I would use it. 時々書いているように、お隣にお住まいのお友達に誘っていただいて、何ヶ月か前から刺繍の集まりに参加しています。と言っても２週間に１度で（月曜日なのですが多分月に２回なのでたまに飛ばす日もあります）出席できない日もあり、まだ参加したのは数回。刺繍はカードに使うために紙にしかしていないので参加するのはどうかという気もしましたが、お隣のお友達からはそれ以前に絵を描く集まりなどにもお誘いいただいたのですが絵は描けない（レッスンで先生が丁寧に教えていただければ描けるのですが）のでと何度かお断りしていたこともあり、知り合いが増えるだけでも良いかなと思って参加することにしました。 As I’ve mentioned a few times, I joined an Embroidery Group and started to go to their gatherings as my next door neighbour friend asked if I wanted to.
