A Short Break In Gidleigh Park In Dartmoor / Day 1 / Dinner
今日のディナーは、宿泊ホテルのGidleigh Parkでいただきました。Gidleigh Park は昔はミシュランの2つ星でしたが、わたしの好みよりもずっと伝統的はお料理でした。その後、シェフが何度か変わっていて、今のシェフは1つ星です。最近は以前より大分軽くなりわたしもいただきやすくはなりましたが、それでも味が薄すぎたり濃すぎたり、好みの食材ではなかったりで、ホテルは大好きなのですが、レストランでの食事は好みとは言えません。クリスマスは食事が全部込みになっていますし時期が時期なので全食ホテルでいただきますが、他の時期は3泊しても1食か2食だけホテルでいただくことにしています。今回は、初日の今日と３日目にいただきます。 We had dinner at the hotel today. Lyndhurst
以前滞在した時にも街の写真をアップしたと思いますが、季節が変わっているので。どこのお家も必ず玄関の辺りや家の前のお庭でお花を育てられていて、とても綺麗でした。薔薇はそろそろ終わりかけていますが、見事な紫陽花をたくさん見かけました。 I think I uploaded some photos of Lyndhurst the last time when we stayed there but it’s a different season now and every house has some lovely flowers at their gates or in their front gardens. Roses are nearly over but we saw some beautiful hydrangeas in many places.
Lyndhurst – 6th Day (Picnic In Winchester)
今日はウィンチェスターのカテドラルのお庭でお昼に夫の家族(弟夫婦、兄と兄のパートナーと息子)と集まってピクニックをしました。今週はほぼずっとお天気が悪い予報でしたが(実際はずっと悪いわけではなかったけれど、時々大雨になりましたので)今日だけ良いお天気で、とってもラッキーでした。日本人なら木の影に座る人が多いと思いますが、イギリスやヨーロッパではみんな日陰は避けて座ります。（わたしは日傘をさしていましたが。) We had a picnic in the grounds of Winchester Cathedral with my husband’s families (his elder brother, his partner and their son, and his younger brother and his wife) at lunch time.
