Birthday Celebration / Dinner On Wednesday (Vegetable Curry)
水曜日の夕食は、夫とわたしが担当しました。ベジタリアンがいますし、最近日本のカレーも人気のようなので、野菜カレーにしました。いつも我が家で作るのと同じに、最初はインド風に玉ねぎを炒めてニンニクと生姜、その後スパイスを加えて炒めて、缶トマトを少し。しばらく炒めてからお水を足して、長く煮るものから入れて行って、最後にルー、という作り方です。入れたお野菜は、玉ねぎ、人参、インゲン豆、ひよこ豆、ズッキーニ、りんごのすりおろし。家にポテトがなかったので途中で買うつもりでいたのですが、ひよこ豆が入るのでポテトはいいかな、と思い入れないことにしました。ズッキーニは焼いた方が食感が好きですし、一緒に煮ると溶けたりするのでフライパンで焼いておいて、最後に加えて温めました。１２人分くらい作ったかな、多すぎた、と思いましたが、思ったより売れて１人半分くらい残りました。辛いものが苦手な人もいたのでルー（我が家は辛口のみ）はやや少なめにして、やや緩め。いつもはチリパウダーを足して辛さを足しますが、この日は辛さはたさず、りんごのすりおろしで甘味を加えました。 On Wednesday of our holiday week it was the turn of my husband and I to cook the dinner together. 今日は、ソールズベリーという街で夫の家族とランチに集まりました。渋滞がなければ我が家から車で１時間ちょっとなのですが、今日は土曜日で渋滞が酷かったので２時間かかりました。駐車場に困るかもしれないと思い、以前も使ったことがあるアプリで夫が普通のお家の駐車場を時間で貸しているところを予約していました。結果的には近くの駐車場が空いていましたが、その時によって色々だと思うので予約しておいた方が気分的に楽でした。 We went to Salisbury to have lunch with my husband’s family today. 昨日は、ブリストルにいた３日の間で唯一お天気が良かったです。でも、気温が低くて（最高気温が７度くらい）、寒かった！冷たい空気で頭が痛くなりました。 It was the only sunny day yesterday while we were in Bristol, but it was also very cold.
