今日は、夫の弟夫婦とチチェスターのタイ料理レストラン、レモングラスでランチをしました。以前からあったのかどうか定かではないのですが、お得なランチセットがあり、結構いろいろなセットがあったのでランチセットにしました。
わたしと義弟は、チキンサテー、野菜春巻き、ビーフのレッドカレー、ライスというセットにしました。
We had lunch with my husband’s younger brother and his wife at a Thai restaurant, “Lemongrass” in Chichester. I don’t know if they always had them but they had a choice of many lunch sets, which were very reasonably priced so we decided to get a lunch set each.
My brother-in-law and I chose the one with Chicken Satay, Vegetable Springrolls, Beef Massaman Curry & rice.
夫は、野菜春巻き、野菜炒め、野菜のグリーンカレー。カレーは夫と途中かえっこしました。カレーは普通に美味しかったのですが、ちょっと味見した野菜炒めは美味しくなかったです。
My husband had the one with vegetable spring rolls, vegetable stir-fry, Vegetable Green Curry & Rice. We swapped our plate to share the curry halfway through. The curry was fine but the stir-fried vegetables weren’t nice at all.
義妹は野菜春巻き、海老トースト、エッグヌードル、カレーはなんだったか忘れてしまいました。
My sister-in-law had the one with Vegetable Spring Rolls, Prawn Toasts, Stir-fried Egg Noodles & some sort of curry (I cannot remember what).
夫と義弟はデザートにバナナフリッターと、義妹はバニラアイスとグリーンティー、わたしはデザートオーダーせず、グリーンティーをいただきました。
To finish my husband and his brother each had Banana Fritter, his brother also had coffee, and my sister-in-law had Vanilla Ice Cream and green tea, I didn’t have any dessert just green tea.
他に３人がビールの小瓶を１本ずつ。お得なセットランチをオーダーしたので、１組５４ポンド（11,400円）でした。セットランチは１５ポンド弱（3,200円）とイギリスにしてはお得ですが、それでも飲み物やデザートをオーダーするとこのお値段になります。
3 of us had a small bottle of beer each. As we took the set lunch, it was £54 per couple, which is very reasonable for England. The lunch set itself is only £14.99 but when you add things like drinks and dessert ( and service) it does seem to get more than you expect.
ランチセットは普通に美味しくいただけたのですが、カレーは不味くはないもののかなり甘くてわたしには甘すぎるように感じます。そして、個人的にはタイ料理は「甘い、辛い、酸っぱい、塩辛い」ものを食べないとタイ料理という感じがせず物足りなく感じました。量的には十分だったのですが、もう１品何かサラダ系を別にオーダーすれば良かったなと思います。
The lunch set was OK but I find their curry too sweet to my liking. Also, I don’t feel I had really had Thai food without eating something that is ‘sweet, sour, salty and spicy’. Although the amount of food was enough, we probably should have ordered some sort of salad separately from the sets.
