予報通り、ヒートウェーブになっています。今日は２６度！数日前は最高気温１３度でヒーターを入れていましたが、昨日はクーラーを入れて寝ました。毎回、ヒートウェーブが来る度にクーラーを入れて良かった〜！と心から思います。ロンドンは明日は３１度、明後日は３３度の予報になりました、暑すぎる。クーラーなしで過ごさないといけない人が多いので、大変だと思います。クーラーを設置できないお家もたくさんあるようですし、できないわけではなくても高いのでないお家が多いんですよね。 As forecasted, we are having a heatwave. 今日は２週間に１度のアランデルでの刺繍の会の集まりがあり、お隣のお友達と一緒に出掛けてアランデルのティールーム「The Cockburn’s Tea Rooms」でランチをしてから刺繍の会に参加しました。ランチは、ベーコン＆ブリーのホットサンド、美味しかったです。 There was an embroidery gathering in Arundel, which is held every two weeks, so I joined them with my next door neighbour after we had lunch in “The Cockburn’s Tea Rooms” in Arundel. 今日も、時々雲が多くなったりはしましたが、概ね良いお天気でした。やっと、やっと、このところお天気が比較的安定してお天気が良い日が多くなり、夏っぽくなりました。クラフトルームも少し暖かくなって、この数日はヒーターを使っていません。気温はまだ最高気温が２１度なので「夏っぽい」と言えるのかどうか、という気はしますが、この際、夏ということにしておこう、と思います（笑）、このまま夏がないままで秋になると悲しすぎる。今日は夏至で、１年で一番日が長い日、明日からまた短くなります。しばらく良いお天気が続きそうで嬉しい。来週は、２４度まで上がる予報になっています、ロンドンはここより数度高いので２７度くらいまで上がる様子。 Although there were times when it got darker with clouds, it has been mostly nice and sunny today. 今日は、行きつけの美容院の美容師さんが美味しいとおっしゃっていた Amberley にある「The Boathouse」にランチに行きました。我が家から１５分かかるか、かからないかの距離にあります。名前からもわかるように川沿いにあってパティオが大きいので、お天気が良いと気持ちの良いシチュエーションですが、今日はお天気が良すぎてパラソルもなかったので、わたしたちは中に座りました。外に座っておられた方も結構たくさんおられます。太陽がガンガン顔に当たっても平気な人が多いのが不思議です。焼けたくないとか肌に悪いとかを別にしても、わたしにとってはあれは拷問。冬の太陽が後ろから当たる分には良いのですが、もう今の季節は日差しがきつくて。 For lunch today we tried a brasserie “The Boathouse” in Amberley, which was recommended by my hairdresser. A Late Lunch At “The Parson’s Table” In Arundel
イギリスに引っ越してきて、４年半ほどになりますが、だんだん、楽しい外食が減って来ました。色々試してみましたがなかなか美味しいと思えるところがなくて、最近、ある程度定期的に行くのはチチェスターの「 Brasserie Blanc」、「 Purchases」、「 Thai Time」そして、ランチタイムにサクッと食べるピッツァに行く「 Franco Manca」くらい。タイ料理は同じメニューで問題ないのですが洋食は同じメニューだと食指が動かず、どこも大体メニューは3ヶ月に１度変わるくらいでそれもごく一部が変わるだけなので、外食してもワクワクしません。なんだかなぁ〜、という感じ。ロンドンだともちろんたくさんチョイスがありますが、この辺りではあまりないのです。田舎に住むと景色が綺麗で季節のお花も楽しめて、ある程度の大きさのお家やお庭に住めるし、静かだし、と良いところはたくさんありますが、外食のチョイスが少なすぎて残念。 Since we moved to England it’s been 4 and a half years and we’ve been eating out less and less.
