イギリスに引っ越してきて、４年半ほどになりますが、だんだん、楽しい外食が減って来ました。色々試してみましたがなかなか美味しいと思えるところがなくて、最近、ある程度定期的に行くのはチチェスターの「 Brasserie Blanc」、「 Purchases」、「 Thai Time」そして、ランチタイムにサクッと食べるピッツァに行く「 Franco Manca」くらい。タイ料理は同じメニューで問題ないのですが洋食は同じメニューだと食指が動かず、どこも大体メニューは3ヶ月に１度変わるくらいでそれもごく一部が変わるだけなので、外食してもワクワクしません。なんだかなぁ〜、という感じ。ロンドンだともちろんたくさんチョイスがありますが、この辺りではあまりないのです。田舎に住むと景色が綺麗で季節のお花も楽しめて、ある程度の大きさのお家やお庭に住めるし、静かだし、と良いところはたくさんありますが、外食のチョイスが少なすぎて残念。 Since we moved to England it’s been 4 and a half years and we’ve been eating out less and less. Birthday Dinner At The Pig
昨日も今日も良いお天気。イギリスにしては珍しく、このところお天気が安定しています。今日からミニ・ヒートウェーブが数日来ていて、ロンドンでは２５度まで上がる日もある予報になっています。この辺りは２２、３度で最高気温は日本と比べてそれほど変わらない気温。最低気温は１０度前後なので日本より寒くなりますが。日本はまた暑くなるという話もありますが、どうなのでしょうか。わたしたちが到着する頃は今のイギリスとだいたい同じような気温のようですので、歩くのにはちょうど良さそう。イギリスと違って日本では歩くことが多くなるので、暑すぎず、寒すぎず、なこの時期を選びました。あまり雨が降らないと有難いな〜。 It’s been lovely weather recently – very unlike England.
