今日はアランデルに用があったので、夫と一緒に「Cockburn’s Tea Rooms」でランチをしました。古い建物が使われていて内装も使われている食器もレトロ。

I had to go to Arundel this afternoon so my husband and I had lunch at “Cockburn’s Tea Room”.  It’s in an old building, with retro interior and they use retro looking dishes/cups as well.

わたしは、前回と同じコロネーションチキンサンド。

I had the same as the last time – a Coronation Chicken Sandwich.

 

ケーキもシェアー。洋梨、アーモンド、ソルタナのケーキ。これは、中の食感がべちゃっとしていてわたしはあまり好みではなかったですが、夫は美味しいと食べていました。

We also shared a cake – Pear, Almond & Sultana Cake .  The texture inside was quite wet and sticky so I didn’t like it so much, but my husband did.

 

 

 

チップも入れて全部で36ポンド（6890円）。やはり日本円にすると高く感じますが、イギリスではとてもお安いと思います。食事も美味しかったですし、スタッフの皆さんもとても感じが良く、お勧めのティールームです。そして、ティールームやカフェでは予約は受け付けないところがほとんどですが、ここは予約も出来ます、結構混むので予約をした方が安心。ただ、オンラインでは出来なくて電話をしなくてはいけないのは残念、オンラインだととても気楽に出来るのですが。

Including the tip it was £36.  Again, when I convert it in yen, it seems very expensive because it is expensive comparing to eating out in Japan, but I think it’s inexpensive in England.  The food was good and their staff are always very smiley and friendly.  I think it’s one of the best places we’ve tried around here.  It’s also nice that you can book a table as not many tearooms/cafes accept reservations and it’s better to book as it tends to get quite busy.  I just wish we could book online rather than having to phone them.
