ロンドンでは、今回はコノート・ホテルに宿泊しました。ずいぶん昔に泊まったことがありましたが、久しぶりでした。わたしたちが行きたいところが比較的近くにあって便利でした。 We stayed at The Connaught on our London trip this time. We’d stayed there many years ago and since then the have built a new wing, which is where our room was. Many places we wanted to go to were within walking distance of the hotel, which was good.

Dinner At “Bubala” In London
昨日のランチはソーホーの「Bubala」というベジタリアンの中近東料理のレストランに行きました。マンゴーやライムオイルを乗せたフムス(凄く滑らかでねっとりした食感が美味しかった)きゅうりのサラダ(中華風な味付け)、ファラフェル(ドライ過ぎず美味しかった)、人参のロースト(外側焦げ過ぎ、中は柔らか過ぎ、味付けはしょっぱ過ぎてこれはわたしは食べられなかった)。フラットブレッドも美味しかったです。 We went to a vegetarian Middle-Eastern restaurant, “Bubala” in Soho. 昨日のディナーは、ソーホーのスリランカ料理のレッスン「ホッパーズ」で。スリランカには旅行で行ったので色々思い出しながら、美味しく頂きました。セットがお得でした。 We had dinner at a Sri Lankan restaurant, “Hoppers”. London Day 2 / Lunch At Dishoom
今日のランチは、コベントガーデンのDishoomに行きました。鼎泰豊同様、ロンドンに来ると必ず行くレストラン。インド料理ですが普通のインド料理と少し違っています。 We went to Dishoom for lunch today. Like Din Tai Fung, we almost always go to Dishoom when we are in London. London Day 1 / Din Tai Fung & Opera
ロンドンに3泊で来ています。宿泊ホテルは、クラリジッズ。今回のお部屋は長細いお部屋でした。 We are in London for 3 nights from today staying at Claridge’s. This time our room is a long rectangular shape. 今日はオペラを観に行く予定が入っていて7時開演だっため夕食の時間がすごく早かったので、チェックイン後はそれまでお部屋でゆっくりして、夕食は予約をしていたコベントガーデンの鼎泰豊に行きました。住んでいるところでは美味しい中華も飲茶も皆無なので、ロンドンに来たら必ず行きます。コベントガーデンの鼎泰豊はオペラハウスからも近くて便利。5時半からだったので予約しなくても大丈夫かなと思いながら一応予約を入れたのですが、結構混んでいて並んでいる人もいたので予約をしていて良かったです。オペラハウスやシアターが近いので、早い時間も案外混むのかもしれません。 We were going to the opera this evening and it was a 7:00pm start so we needed to have a very early dinner. Japan Centre (Ichiba) & Petersham Nurseries
ロンドンから戻って来た日は、途中で２ヶ所の寄り道しました。１ヶ所目は、Westfield という大きなショッピングモールの中にあるジャパンセンター Ichiba。ジャパンセンターは２店舗あり１ヶ所には以前行ったことがあるのですが、こちらの方が大きいようだったのでこちらに行ってみました。でも、思っていたより小さく品揃えも少なくて、期待はずれでした。ネットショップでは買えないラーメンとか店舗なら置いてあるかもと思っていたのですが、品揃えは多分ネットショップと同じかなと思いました。お野菜もあまり種類はなかったです。 On the way back home from London we stopped at two places. Shopping & Lots of Walking In London
今回のロンドン滞在では、わたしにしてはとてもたくさん歩いていて、午後3時ごろにロンドンに到着した日曜日は6300歩くらい、昨日はなんと14,800歩くらい、そして今日は早めに4時ごろにホテルに戻ったのですが、それまでに11,400歩くらい歩きました。夕方また出かけるので、もう少し今日の歩数は伸びるはず。 This time in London I’ve been walking A LOT for me. On Sunday I walked 6,300 steps after we arrived in the hotel around 3.00pm. Yesterday I walked 14,800 steps and today 11,400 steps so far (we got back to the hotel around 4.00pm) and we’ll be walking a little more in the evening….
