Dinner at Din Tai Fung

今日の４時頃に自宅に戻って来ました。ロンドン、楽しかったです！戻ってきて真っ先にしたのは、洗濯物を洗濯機に入れて、夫はお庭の水撒き、わたしは草抜き（笑）。軽い夕食の後、夫はお庭のテーブルに座ってのんびりしていましたが（今は９時半頃まで明るい）、わたしは気になって草抜きの続きをしました。

We got back home today around 4.00pm. We really enjoyed London this time. The first thing we did after putting the washing in the washing machine is watering the gardens for my husband and weeding for me. After a light evening meal, my husband was enjoying sitting in the garden as it was a lovely evening but I couldn’t help but doing more weeding!

それで、やっぱり、と思ったことがあります。というのは、最近、胸焼けが酷いのです。丁度草抜きを始めた頃からなのでもしかすると、と思っていましたが、やはりそうでした。ロンドンではランチと夕食といつもより食べていたのに胸焼けにはならなかったのに、今日は早速苦しい。食事の後あまり時間が経たないうちに草抜きをすると、体を曲げる作業なので胃が押し付けられて逆流性胃炎みたいになっているのだと思います。食後の草抜きはやめておきます。

That made me confirm something I was wondering. Recently I’ve been having heartburn often and I thought it started around the time when I started weeding and I am now convinced that is why. I didn’t have any heartburn in London even though we were eating more than usual as we had lunch and dinner every day, but I’m having heartburn again now. What happens is that I often do weeding soon after lunch or soon after dinner. I don’t put my knees on the ground, I just bend my body over or I sometimes squat, which pushes my stomach and I guess that is causing this heartburn. I must stop weeding too soon after a meal.

さて、昨日のディナーは、最近はロンドンに行くたびに行っている鼎泰豊に行きました。昨日は既にアップしましたが、オペラ（マダム・バタフライ）に行く予定だったので、早い時間に予約を入れていました。キャンセルになってしまったのでもう少し遅い時間に変更したかったのですが、既にもう少し遅い時間は満席になっていて変更出来ず、６時１５分のままでした。

Anyway, back to my London report. Yesterday we went to Ding Tai Fung for dinner, we have been going there every time when we go to London since we moved to England because we miss this type of food. As I’ve already blogged, the opera (Madam Butterfly) that we were going to see got cancelled yesterday but we had booked Ding Tai Fun at 6.15pm because our plan was to go there before the Opera. We tried to move it to later time but nothing was available so we had to be there at 6.15.

余談ですが、オペラのキャンセルですが、返金はなく、３年間有効なバウチャーが送られて来ました。それって、どうなんでしょう？まぁ、わたしたちは何事もなければ３年以内には何度かロンドンに行くと思うので使えるとは思いますが、こういう催しは海外から来る方も多いので次回がない方も多いのはないかと思うのです。

Incidentally, we didn’t get the opera tickets fee refund but received a voucher that will be effective for 3 years. That doesn’t seem fair to me. Unless something unexpected happens I’m sure we’ll be in London many times and will have an opportunity to use the vouchers within 3 years but there must be many people who don’t get a chance to visit London in 3 years.

鼎泰豊で最好きなオリエンタルサラダ、前回もでしたが今回も「Not Available」でした、悲しい〜。食材が手に入らないからとのことで、多分、干し豆腐が手に入らないのかなと思います。コロナの関係でフライトが激変して入ってこないのだろうと推測します。でも、干し豆腐なしでもいいから作ってくれれば良いのに（涙）。

I love this Oriental Salad, but it wasn’t available last time and again this time, very sad. Apparently they cannot get all the ingredients necessary. My guess is it’s the dried tofu that they can’t get due to Covid, which caused fewer flights, but I wish they made this without dried-tofu, I’m sure it still tastes good without.
