今日も一時雲が多かったものの概ね良いお天気でしたが、引き続き寒くて、クラフトルームが15度になってしまったので、またクラフトルームの床暖房を入れました。クラフトルームは元々ガレージだったので、断熱材は入れてもらいましたが4つの壁のうち3つは外壁になるので他のお部屋に比べるとやはり冬は寒いのです。
Although it was very cloudy at times it was mostly sunny but it’s still cold. My craft room went down to 15C so we did have to put the underfloor heating back on. My craft room was originally the house’s garage and we did have insulations put in when we converted it to a craft room but I suppose it’s still not as insulated as the other rooms and 3 of the walls are outside ones.
今日はジムから戻って来てすぐに雑草抜きを1時間ほど頑張りました。抜いても数日経てばまた生えてますし、塀にたくさん(あちら側から)入ってくるアイビーも育ち盛りです。
After we came back from the gym, did gardening for about an hour, trying to get rid of as much ivies as I could as well as pulling some weeds. One of the fences is covered with ivy, which comes from the other side of the fence.
今日の夕食は、Hello Fresh の「Fragrant Sach Ko Ang Inspired Beef Kofta Baguette with Sweet Chilli Sauce, Pickled Carrot Salad and Peanuts(香りの良いサッコーアンにインスパイヤーされたビーフコフタのバゲットサンド、スィートチリソース、人参のピクルスとピーナッツ)でした。サッコーアンというのはカンボジアのやタイ料理のビーフの串焼きで、レモングラスやこぶみかんの葉、にんにく、ガランガルなどにビーフをマリネして串に刺して焼いたものだそうです。人参のピクルスにはきゅうりを足して、ミニトマトも添えました。コフタは少し塩分が強かったですが(お醤油を少し控えれば良かったです)レモングラスの香りやニンニクの香りがしてとても美味しかったです。ピクルスも食感が良く美味しかったですが、ちょっとわたしたちには甘すぎる味付けでした、少しお砂糖を控えた方が良かった、それでも美味しかったです。
Today’s dinner was “Fragrant Sach Ko Ang Inspired Beef Kofta Baguette with Sweet Chilli Sauce, Pickled Carrot Salad and Peanuts” from Hello Fresh. Apparently, Sach Ko Ang is skewered beef, a street food in Cambodia. The beef is marinaded in things like lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, garlic and garangal. To the pickled carrot _we added cucumber and also added some mini tomatoes so we eat more vegetables. Kofta was a little too salty for me (I should have kept some of the soysauce back) but tasted good other than that with the flavour of lemongrass and garlic. The pickled carrot & cucumber was also nice with great texture but a little too sweet, we should have used less sugar than the recipe.
