わたしたちの場合クリスマスが近いからと言って特に忙しくはないはずなのに、ブログより優先順が高いあれこれが色々あって、気がつけばもう５日もブログをアップしていませんでした。そして、明日から３泊でデボン週の大好きなホテルにクリスマスを過ごしに行くので、多分、また溜まってしまうと思います（涙）。戻ってきたら頑張ろう！

Even though I don’t feel we get busy just because Christmas is near (because we don’t host a Christmas dinner or don’t need to buy loads of presents), there have still been various things that needed doing and my blog has been a lower priority and I haven’t posted for 5 days!  We are going to Devon to spend Christmas from tomorrow for 3 days in our favourite hotel so I’ll be getting even more behind.  Hopefully I can catch up soon after we get back.

クリスマス間近ということで、先日、何年ぶりかでミンスパイを焼きました。ミンスミートはフォートナム＆メイソンで去年か一昨年買ったものですが、開けていなかったので大丈夫でした。生地もほろほろととても美味しく焼けました。そんなに食べないし（食べてはいけない！）と思って７つしか焼かなかったら、あっという間になくなってしまいました。旅行から戻ったら、また焼こうと思います。

As I was feeling Christmassy I baked some mince pies, I hadn’t made them for quite a few years, I think.  I used the mincemeat from Fortnum & Mason’s that we bought either last year or the year before but it hadn’t been opened so it was still OK.  The pie crust was lovely and crumbly, and they were delicious.  I didn’t think we’d eat them so fast (trying not to) so I only baked 7 of them but they were gone in 3 days. I’ll bake some more when we get back.
