今回の２週間に１度のお花は、濃いピンクがかったオレンジの薔薇でした。葉っぱを落として花束にまとめてしまうとボリュームがなくなってしまうので、上の方の葉っぱは残してそのままストンと入れています。来た時はまだお花がほとんど開いていなくて小さかったのでボリュームがありませんでしたが、２日経った今は少し開いてきてだんだんボリュームが出てきました。薔薇は頭が下がってしまったりすることも多いので、このまま綺麗に咲いてくれますように。
暗い色の壁にはこういうはっきりした色も淡い色も淡い色の壁より映えるのは、暗い壁の良いことのひとつのように思います。
The subscription flowers this time were pinkish orange roses. If I take all the leaves off and make a bouquet, it’ll be quite a small one and wouldn’t look very impressive so I just put them in a vase without arranging, leaving the upper leaves on. When they arrived they were still quite tight so didn’t look much but now they have opened a little more and started to look better. I find roses are hard to keep well, they sometimes bend their heads, I hope these ones won’t until they open up fully so we can enjoy them longer.
One advantage of having dark walls, I find, is that flowers with strong colours or pale colours look very nice against it.
