今日は、ペットワースの美容院にお昼前に予約を入れていたので（昨日はカラー、今日はカット）、終わってから戻ってくる途中の「Cowdray Farm Shop Cafe」でサクッとランチをしました。ペットワースにはここと言ったランチに良いところがないので、お買い物ついでにこのファームショップカフェで食べることが多いです。今日は土曜日でお天気も良かったので（でも、結構寒い）、とても賑わっていました。
I had an appointment at a hair salon in Petworth before lunch (it was hair colour yesterday and hair cut today) and we had lunch at “Cowdray Farm Shop Cafe” on our way back. We haven’t found any suitable cafe/restaurant good for lunch in and around Petworth, so we tend to have it here as we can also do some shopping. It’s nice and sunny today although cold and it is a Saturday, so the cafe was very busy.

My husband had Eggs Benedict.
わたしは、BLTサンド。ベーコンは日本のベーコンの３倍はある厚さでしかも２枚入っているのでわたしには多すぎるので、１枚は抜いて食べますが、夫が食べてました。パンもサンドイッチにしては分厚いのでかなりなボリュームです。
I had the BLT sandwich. The bacon here is at least 3 times as thick as Japanese bacon and they put 2 layers of it in the sandwich, so it’s too much for me. I pull a layer of it out – which my husband eats. The bread is quite thick for a sandwich, too, so it’s very filling.
ファームショップで少しお買い物をして戻ったのですが、戻ったら、病院からお手紙が届いていました。先週、マモグラムを受けた結果で、異常なし。ほっとしました。どんな検査も受けてから結果が出るまでドキドキします。イギリスではこういう検診は無料で有難いのですが（ビザの申請のときにまとめて健康保険料を払っていますが）、例えばマモグラムは日本のように年に１度ではなく（追記 日本は２年に１度だそうです）、通常３年に１度となっていて、３年に１度「この日のこの時間に来てください。」と連絡がきます。わたしが３年前に受けた時、係の方が「今回で最後ですよ。」とおっしゃったのですが、今回の結果のご連絡に７１歳まで３年ごとにインビテーションが届くと書かれています。そして、それ以降も希望すれば３年に１度受けられるので連絡して受けることをお勧めします、とあります。３年前で終わりと思っていたので自費で受けないといけないなと思っていましたが（そして、乳癌にかかる確率は６０代以降が多いはずなのに、とも思っていましたが）、まだしばらくはインビテーションが来ると知ってほっとしました。
We did a little shopping in the farm shop and came home, and found a letter for me from the hospital. I had Mammogram done last week and it was the result, which showed no signs of cancer or abnormality. Every time when I take any kind of a health check I feel very nervous until I get the result. It’s great that we can get these check ups free of charge (well, I have paid a large sum for NHS as a foreigner), but for example it’s only every 3 years that you get mammogram unlike in Japan (where it’s once every two years). When I had it done last time I am very sure that I was told it was the last time that I would get it but I had an invitation the other day. In the letter that told me the result, it also said I’ll get an invitation every 3 years until I’m 71, after which I can still get it by contacting them and they recommend I do because the risk of breast cancer doesn’t not stop at 71. I must say I was very surprised when I was told it was the last time 3 years ago as the risk of breast cancer is the highest in one’s 60s if I’m correct. Anyway, I’m glad I will get an invitation for a while longer.
