ラベンダーファームに行く前に、近くにあったパブ「The Bo-Peep」でランチをしました。
わたしは、ソーセージと炒めた玉ねぎのバゲットサンド。ソーセージと玉ねぎは普通に美味しかったのですが、バゲットが美味しくなさすぎてとても残念。イギリスの普通のスーパーで売っているバゲット、わたしはとっても苦手。良くトースターで温めて少しカリッとしていればまだましなのですが、こればふにゃっとしていて中がねとっとした食感で、せっかくソーセージは普通に美味しいのにサンドイッチとしては美味しくなかったです。
Before we went to the lavender farm we had lunch at a nearby pub, the Bo Peep. We sat outside in their garden as the inside tables were all fully booked. I had a Baguette sandwich with sausages and sautéed onion. The sausages and onions were fine but the baguette was so bad. I really don’t like the baguettes that you can buy in supermarkets in England, they aren’t really baguettes at all. If it’s warmed up and made a little crispy they’re not so bad but when they are cold and the texture inside is sort of sticky, I find it very unpleasant. What a waste of sausages and onions!
夫はソーセージ＆マッシュ＆巨大ヨーキー。写真では分かりませんが、かなり大きなヨークシャープディングでした。ヨークシャープディングは多分冷凍のもの。でも、バゲットよりはましだったので、こちらの方がましだったと思います。
My husband had Sansages & Mash in a huge Yorkie. It’s not obvious but the Yorkshire pudding was very large as the menu said. I think the Yorkshire pudding was a frozen one defrosted, but it was better than the baguette!
