昨日、すっかり書き忘れていました。昨日は、日本から遊びに来てくださっているお友達とAmberley を歩いてランチをして戻って来て少し休憩してから、せっかく来てくださっているので、どんなところに住んでいるのか見て帰ってほしくてわたしたちが住む小さな小さな村をぶらっと歩きました。と言っても本当に何もないところなので楽しいかどうかは疑問なのですが。メインストリートだけならすぐに歩けてしまいますが、横道も歩いたので、まだ一部歩けきれなかったところを除いて家に戻った時には１時間くらい経っていました。イギリスの田舎には歩道がないところが多いので、気をつけて歩かないと怖いです。
I completely forgot to write about our walk in our little village with our friend from Japan yesterday. After we had a walk in Amberley and had lunch, we got home and had a little rest, then went out to walk around our very small village. Since she is here for the first time I thought it would be nice for her to know what sort of village this is, although there really isn’t very much to see at all. The main street is very short but we walked in the other areas including the church, about an hour altogether (with just a small area, where we didn’t go). There aren’t many pavements in the countryside in England so you have to be quite careful when you walk on the roads.
パカパカと馬が走って来たので写真を撮ろうとしたのですがうまく撮れず、ちょうど良い距離では撮りそびえれてしまい、こんなことに。イギリスでは結構都会でも時々馬に乗っている人を見かけますが、これは馬に乗っているのではなく大きなカートみたいなものに男性が乗っていてそれを引いていました。
We heard the noise of a horse running, then saw it coming. I tried to take photos but missed the good chance, so these are all I got. You do see people riding horses in England even in cities here but it was a horse pulling something like a large cart with a guy driving today.
