昨日は、お友達ご夫婦に「簡単なランチに」とお招きいただいて、車で３０分くらいのところのお友達のお家に伺いました。キッシュやワカモーレ、トマト、きゅうり、コールドミート、写真にはありませんがチーズも。１年にクルーズ旅行に何度も行かれるお２人、先日南アメリカから戻られたところなのでその話しや、わたしたちも４月に２度目のクルーズに行く予定なのでその話しなどで楽しくあれこれおしゃべりして、暗くなってきたころにお暇しました。
We were invited to our friends’ house for lunch yesterday to catch up with each other. Quiche, guacamole, cucumber, tomato, cold meats and after this cheese as well. They go on a cruise a few times a year and just came back from South America so we heard all about the trip and we also talked about the Cruise that we will be taking in April. A lot to talk about. We left them when it was getting dark.
お天気が悪すぎて気が滅入ると昨日お友達とボヤいていたら、あら、不思議、今日は久しぶりの良いお天気になりました。昨日のお天気予報ではそんな予報ではなかったので、今回は良い方に外れました！
We were grumbling about how miserable the weather had been, but today it turned out to be quite nice. The forecast was wrong for the better this time!
やっとお天気がよくなって気温も寒いことは寒いですが風はなかったので、やっとやっとチューリップの植え付けをしました。いつもならクリスマスのすぐ後くらいにするのですが。まぁ、時期が遅くはなると思いますが咲くことは咲くと思います。ついでにたくさんあちらこちらに溜まって気になっていた落ち葉も頑張って集めました、しゃがまなくてはいけないのでこれが結構大変。気が付けば、２時間くらい経っていました。夫はまだ片付けなどしてくれています。お庭仕事をしたのは数ヶ月ぶり、明日の筋肉痛は逃れられませんね。
As the weather is finally nice today and it’s not bitterly cold (it’s cold but not windy), we finally planted our tulip bulbs. We usually do this soon after Christmas but this year we hadn’t managed to find a day when the weather was good enough and we had time for it. I suppose they’ll flower late but that’s OK. I hadn’t collected the dead leaves for a long time and they’d been bothering me so I also collected quite a lot of them, this is hard work as I have to squat down. I was in the garden for about 2 hours (my husband is still there doing the last bits and pieces) and I’m sure I’ll have achy legs tomorrow since I haven’t done any gardening for ages.
