クルーズ１０日目。今回のクルーズは14泊なので、いよいよ後数日になりました。（クルーズの後、イスタンブールのホテルに2泊します。）今朝は、ギリシャのクレタ島に寄港し、午後1時半からの「Heraklion & Archaeological Museum 」（イラクリオンの街と考古学博物館）というツアーに参加しました。ランチはツアーの前にサラダとパン。
Day 10 of the cruise. Our cruise has 14 nights, so we only have 4 more nights after today (but we have 2 more nights at a hotel in Istanbul). We were in Crete today and took an excursion of “Heraklion & Archaeological Museum” from 1:30. We had lunch at the World Cafe.
まず最初に考古学博物館に入る予定でしたが、入り口が混んでいて入場に並ばなくてはいけなかったので予定を変更し、先に街歩きをしました。ガイドさんの説明を聞きながら街を歩きました。それほど見る所はなかったのですが、お店は結構たくさん並んでいてよくあるチェーン店だけではなくギリシャのお店もたくさんあるようで、お買い物に楽しそうな街でした。ざっと歩いた後、考古学博物館に入り、ガイドさんの説明を聞きながら見て回りました。が、今日もお天気が良く21度まで上がり、外は気持ち良いお天気でしたが博物館の中には冷房が入っていないようでかなり暑く、そして、歩いていればそうでもないのですが立ち止まって説明を聞く時間が長く足が疲れて来て、わたしと夫は1階を見終わったところで外に出て、カフェで飲み物を飲みながらツアーが終わるのを待つことにしました。ギリシャはあっちにもこっちにもこういう遺跡や考古学博物館がたくさんあって素晴らしいですが、1つ2つ見たらもう良いかな、というのが正直なところです。
We were going to go into the Archaeological Museum first but when we arrived there were many people queueing to get in, so the guide changed the plan and we walked in the town first. There weren’t that many buildings to see, but we saw many nice looking Greek shops other than the big worldwide chain shops so it looked like a fun place to do some shopping. After walking in the town, we went back to the museum and got inside and looked at many items with the explanation of the guide. It was another sunny day today and the temperature went up to 21C, it was nice outside but the inside of the museum was quite warm and I was getting too hot. My legs were getting tired as well, I’m OK if we are walking but we often had to stand at one place to listen to the explanation and I find that very tiring. So, after going around on the ground floor the rest of the group went upstairs but we decided to opt out and have something cold at a cafe near the museum. There are also many of these ruins and archaeological museums in Greece and they re all wonderful and interesting but after a couple of them we feel we don’t want to take it any more…
博物館の見学を終わったグループが出てきたので合流し、バスに戻りましたが、お1人だけなかなか戻って来られず、バスは待てないので必ず4時25分までに戻ってくるようにと言われていた時間を15分過ぎても戻って来られませんでした。お連れの方は戻っておられたのですが、電話をかけてもオフになっているとのこと。どこに行かれたのか。わたしたちのバスが最後のバスで船が出る時間が迫ったので、結局、その方を残して船に戻りました。その後、どうなったのか気になります。
We joined the group when they came out of the museum and went back to the bus, but we were missing one person. We were told that the bus cannot wait there so we have to be back by 4:25, we waited for 15 minutes after that but he didn’t come back. His friend was back and he was saying he’d tried to phone him but his phone was turned off. As the time for the ship to sail out was 5:00, we had to leave him behind. We wonder what happened to him…
夕食は、The Restaurant に行くことにしました。夫の前菜は、エスカルゴ、わたしはオニオン・スープ、夫のメインは、インポッシブル・ボロネーゼ（ベジタリアンミート）、わたしはバター・チキン。バター・チキンは割と美味しいと思いましたが、他はまぁまぁ。デザートは場所を移して、ビュッフェレストランに行き、夫はチーズ数種類、わたしはジェラートをいただきました。
We decided to go to The Restaurant for dinner. My husband had Escargot and I had Onion Soup for starters, then my husband had Impossible Bolognese with Pappardelle for the main (the pasta was completely overcooked, quite unpleasant) and I had Butter Chicken. I thought the butter chicken wasn’t bad but others are mostly so-so. For desserts, we moved to the World Cafe and my husband had cheese & biscuits and I had gelato.
