気がつけば、１０月、今年も後3ヶ月、４分の１になりました。本当に、時間が経つのがどんどん加速して行きます。今日は曇りがちで一時期少し雨がぱらつきましたが（ランチに向かう途中、車の中で）、ランチが終わる頃には晴れていました。寒くはなりましたが雨はまだ多くなく、結構晴れる日も多い印象です。
It is October, already! There is only a quarter of the year left now. I feel the time goes faster and faster as you get older. It was quite cloudy at first today and had some sprinkles of rain on our way to Lewes just for a few minutes, but it had brightened up by the time we finished our lunch. Although it has gone cold we haven’t had too much rain this autumn, which is great.
今日は、ヘイスティングの近くにお住まいのお友達ご夫婦とランチをご一緒して来ました。お互いの家の中間地点ということで、ルイス近辺で落ち合うことが多いのですが、今日はルイスの街の外れにあるパブ「The Swan Inn」に初めて行ってみました。
We met up with our friends, who live near Hastings, for lunch today. We tend to get together somewhere around Lewes as it’s about the middle between our respective houses and today we tried a pub, “The Swan Inn”, which is at the end of the town, for the first time.
お友達はフィッシュケーキ、ご主人様はゴートチーズの何かをオーダーされていました、どちらも美味しかったそうです。
Our friend had Fish Cakes, her husband had Goat Cheese and something, which they seem to have enjoyed.
夫は、リガトーニのリッチなラグー。まぁまぁ、だったみたいです。
My husband had Rigatoni with rich ragu – he said it was so-so.
わたしは、ベトナム風スパイスのチキンバーガーとサラダ。ベトナム風は全く感じられませんでしたが、チキンはまぁまぁ、ひどくパサパサではなかったので普通にいただくことが出来ました。サラダは、あまり味がなかったです。
I had Vietnamese Spiced Chicken Burger with a salad. I couldn’t taste much of “Vietnamese flavour” but the chicken wasn’t too tough so it was OK. The salad didn’t have much flavour.
お友達ご夫婦はチーズケーキをシェアーされていました、わたしと夫はスティッキー・トフィー・プディングをシェアー。わたしは６分の１くらい食べたかな？ちょっとドライでしたが、ソースをかけていただけば美味しかったです。
Our friends shared a Cheese Cake and my husband and I shared Sticky Toffee Pudding. I guess I had about 1/6 of it. It was a bit dry but good with the sauce.
