日本も寒そうですが、こちらも引き続き寒波でとても寒いです！今朝は雪が本の薄化粧程度に積もっていました。この辺りはなかなか降らないので、珍しいです。最高気温２度、最低気温マイナス５度。明日から少し寒さが緩むようですが、それでもまだまだ真冬の気温。そして、火曜日辺りから雨が多くなるようです。
It’s been cold in Japan, too, I see but it’s been even colder here. This morning we found a little snow around us, although very very little. It really doesn’t snow often around here so this is rare. The highest temperature was only 2C and the lowest minus 5. It looks like it’ll be a little less cold from tomorrow but still very wintery and they are expecting to have rainy days from Tuesday.
今日はネイルサロンの後で、チチェスターで早めのランチをいただき、その後、少しだけお店を覗いてセールになっていたカシミアセーターを買いました。長い間主に黒を着ていましたが、去年はブラウンが大流行したこともあり濃いブラウンも着るようになり、そのブラウンに合う淡いピンク。流石にこの歳になると暗い色ばかりは良くないかなと思い始めた今日この頃。
We had lunch at “Joanna’s Boutique Tearooms” in Chichester after I had my nails done today, then we had a look in a shop or two and I bought a cashmere top, which was on sale. I was always wearing black mainly but last year I started wearing brown as it was around so much and I got to like dark brown. The top I bought today is a pale pink, which would go nicely with the dark brown. I feel I’m getting to the age when I should try not to wear black so much.
ランチは、少し久しぶりに「Joanna’s Boutique Tearooms」に行きました。
夫は、クロック・ムッシュ。ちょっとだけもらって食べましたが、とても美味しかったです。ただ、濃い味なのでわたしなら半分食べるのがやっとかな、という気がしました、夫は美味しいと完食。
My husband had Croque Monsieur – I tried a little bit and it was very tasty. However, it tasted quite strong so I could probably manage to eat only a half of it. My husband didn’t have any problem though and finished it happily.
わたしは、サワドートーストの上にポーチドエッグ、焼いたトマト、アボカドがのったもの。これも美味しかったですが、トーストがトマトの水分でべちゃっとなっていたのが残念でした。次回はトーストは添えてもらうようお願いしようと思います。
I ordered this sourdough toast with poached eggs, grilled tomato & avocado. It was tasty, too, but the toast was soggy because of the water from the tomatoes. I should ask them to serve the toasts on the side rather than underneath next time.
