今日はお昼間しばらく太陽が顔を出しましたが、ランチから戻ってふと外を見るともう薄曇りになっていました。明日は、また一日中曇っているみたいです。
There was some sunny intervals around lunch time, but it had gone grey when I looked out of the window after we got back from lunch. Grey all day tomorrow.
せっかくのバレンタインデーなので、チチェスターの新しいイタリアン、「Piccolino」でランチをしました。去年の１１月か１２月にオープンしたばかりのレストランで、１２月に１度行っています。
Since it’s Valentine’s Day today, we went out for lunch to “Piccolino” in Chichester. It opened in November or December last year so it’s very new but we alteady went there in December once.
ドアを開けたところにある、バー。最初に来た時、ここのフロアーがすごく派手でびっくりしました。

夫の前菜は、ローストしたパプリカとモッツァレラのサラダ。少し味見しましたが、美味しかったです。
My husband’s starter was Roasted Pepper & Mozzarella Salad. I had a little piece of pepper and it was very nice.
わたしは、手作りのガーリックブレッド、フォカッチャスタイル、にしました。美味しかったです。食べきれなかった分は持ち帰らせてもらい、さっき、夫とつまみました。
I had “hand stretched garlic bread, Focaccia style”. It was very nice. The portion was large so I didn’t finish it but we brought the left-over home and had it in the evening.
わたしメインは、パスタ。フェタチーニのボロネーゼソース。ボロネーゼは一般的に想像するもののように牛ミンチたっぷりではなく、トマトソースの中に少し牛ミンチが入っているという感じのものでした。以前、イタリア人のお友達のお家でご馳走になったボロネーゼがこういう感じでトマトソースがメインでした。わたしはお肉をがっつり食べたいタイプではないので、この方が好みかもと思います。ただ、ちょっと甘すぎたので（お砂糖が多いかケチャップが入っているのだと思います）チリオイルをいただいてかけました。美味しくいただきました。
For the main, I had pasta – Fettuccine with Bolognese sauce. The bolognese was different from what most people think of, I think. It was mostly tomato sauce with a small amount of minced beef, which is what a friend of ours in Italy cooked for us when we stayed with her. I quite like this style, maybe better than the more usual one that is mostly minced beef, because I’m not a big meat eater. Although it tasted good, too, it was a little too sweet, I guess they add too much sugar or maybe they add tomato ketchup? So I asked for chilli oil so it would taste less sweet and I enjoyed it.
夫は、ツナ。メニューに書かれていたのかどうかわからないのですが、添え野菜が前菜にも食べたパプリカのローストでした。でも、前菜のとはまた違っていたそうです。美味しかったようでした。
My husband had Tuna. I don’t know if it said so on the menu but it came with some roasted peppers, which my husband had alteasy had for his starter. He said, though, that they wwre different from the ones used in the starter and it was very good.
デザートは、セミフレッドをシェアーしましたが、これは余り好みではなかったです。
We shared a Semifredo for dessert, I didn’t like this very much.
夫が白ワイン１杯、わたしは赤ワイン１杯、ガス入りのお水を１本シェアー、食後に夫がエスプレッソをいただいて、お会計は115ポンド２２０００円。わたしが食べられるものがメニューに少ないのが残念、メインはシンプルなパスタで満足なので良いのですが前菜の種類が少ないです。それでも、頂いたものはどれも美味しかったです。まぁ、このお値段で美味しくないと困るのですが、美味しくないところも多いですからね。２度来て２度とも美味しく頂けたので、ほっとしました。
My husband had a glass of white wine and I had a glass of red and we shared a bottle of sparkling water. My husband also had an espresso after the meal and the bill was £115. I cannot find many items I can eat on their menu, which is a shame. I don’t mind having a simple pasta for the main but I would like to have more choices for thw starters. Still, at least the meal was enjoyable. It is rather expensive so it should be good but there are plenty of places that don’t serve good food with the same price range so I’m glad we enjoyed their food.
