今日もイギリスの冬には珍しい、とっても良いお天気。しかも、この先しばらく良いお天気が続くようで、本当にこんなお天気がしばらく続くなら奇跡のようなもの。やっと長い冬が終わりに近づいたのかな、と気持ちも明るくなります。なにしろ、去年の夏はあまり夏らしいお天気がなく、そのままずっとお天気が悪かったので半年以上ぱっとしないお天気でした。今年は、どうでしょう。
It’s been another beautiful day – so unlike England. The forecast is still showing many sun marks for the next week or so. If we get that many sunny days in a row it’ll be nearly a miracle, I don’t remember having sunny weather for more than a few days for six months or longer. I guess this long long winter is almost at the end. We hardly had any summer last year, and since then it’s been so bad. I hope we’ll have better weather this year.
そして、今日から３月。１月に比べると２月は少し早く感じました。実際数日短いですが、それだけではなく、やはり時々明るいお天気になることやお花が咲き始めたこともあるかと思います。
And we are into March from today. Comparing to January, February felt a little shorter. Not only it is actually shorter but having had some nice days and seeing flowers coming out probably made a difference.
今日は、また、West Dean Gardens を歩いて来ました。そこそこ風があって歩き始めは寒く感じましたが、しばらく歩くと暖かくなり、太陽も出ていて空も青くて気持ちが良かったです。スノードロップは終わってクロッカスが満開、水仙が咲き始めています。３.５キロほど、５０００歩ちょっと歩きました。まだまだ見られるお花などは少ないですが、緑が多く見晴らしも良いのでお天気が良い日は楽しく歩けます。
We went to West Dean Gardens again today and walked a little. There was some breeze so it felt cold at first because the temperature was low but felt warmer very quickly as we walked. It felt so nice to walk there with the blue sky and the sun. The snowdrops are fading and the crocuses are in full bloom and daffodils have started to flower. We walked 3.5km, a little more than 5,000 steps. Still not so many kinds of flowers to see but it was very enjoyable as it’s very green and the view is lovely when the weather is so beautiful.
歩いた後は、お楽しみのお茶とケーキ。前回同様、今回もキャロットケーキ。パブロフの犬ではないですが、こういうところに来るとお茶とケーキが頭に浮かぶほど、すっかり習慣化してしまいました（笑）。
Then, of course, we had tea and cake. Like last time we shared a piece of carrot case. Like Pavlov’s dog, “tea and cake” come to our mind as soon as we get to a place like West Dean Gardens or some National Trust gardens now.
